“A Classic Experience”
Reviewed 22 June 2011

The Regent Cinema in Lyme Regis is like those cinemas you used to go to in the seventies & eighties - before they all became soulless multiplexes or bingo halls.

What happens when you go to the cinema now - multi-screen affairs, pack 'em in, sell as much popcorn as you can & get 'em out quick before the next showing.

The Regent is different - friendly, helpful staff, one screen, and a lovely old-school experience. The cinema is divided into stalls (pretty standard) & an upper circle where you pay £1 extra but get more room and a table next to every seat. And there's a nice coffee lounge upstairs where you can wait in comfort (with popcorn if you want!) for the film to begin.

They even have those local adverts - you know the ones - '...5 minutes from this cinema...'

We go to the cinema when we're in Lyme whether we want to see the film or not! Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
