I spent an excellent night here with 10 clients. Everyone was very impressed with the helpfulness of the staff and the rooms were of a good quality.

The views across Lyme bay and beyond from the secluded garden at the back of the hotel are superb.

The Mariners is close enough to the bottom of Lyme hill to walk easily but not so close that you would be disturbed by the noise that is inevitable beside the sea.

We arrived to a friendly welcome and shown to our room and asked if we required anything else.
The room was bright and clean as was the whole of the hotel. We had a drink in the garden which was extremely pleasant sat looking over the sea. We had a good night after everyone had settled in there rooms but you have to expect a little bit of creaking on the stairs in an old building. Breakfast was first class the best scrambled egg ever. Our three day stay was excellent and will be returning again.

Spent three days with my wife. Great little hotel, very pleasent staff. Food excellent, local produce on menu. Fab garden with summer house. rooms a bit small, but its a very old hotel and we found it added to the charm, and the view from room 12 was amazing. would definitly return!

Room Tip: great sea view from room 12

We spent 5 days here in September and were very impressed. The food in the restaurant was first class as was the service. The room was very nice and had a large walk in shower in the on-suit. The service in the bar and reception was first class, friendly and efficient. At one point we asked for instructions and information about Tyneham Village. Without a pause the receptionist was on the computer and Google and found out all we wanted and even printed a map out for us. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel. Loved staying there and would not hesitate to go back.
Hotel for grown ups.
Had a great room overlooking the sea.
Food was superb and the dining experiece was excellent.
Couple of things to possibly improve is the corridor upstairs to the rooms could do with brightening up and there was some noise from other guests walking about above our room at night.
I would give this hotel 9.5/10
