“Amazing stay!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

My partner and I stayed at Rotherfield House for a weekend last July for our friends wedding (I know, I'm a bit late with the review!) and it was fantastic from the moment we arrived. Jacqui made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much effort for her. She made lots of helpful suggestions about the best places to eat whilst in Lyme. The breakfast was delicious and there was so much to choose from. The Patio Room was decorated to a very high standard and had everything we could possibly need whilst away from home, the outside patio area was a very welcome bonus and allowed us to enjoy the beautiful weather we were blessed with. All in all there was not one thing I could fault and we wouldn't want to stay anywhere other than Rotherfield House when visiting Lyme again.

We stayed for two nights mid week. The location is perfect and the welcome was as warm as the sun. Jaqui manages to strike that fine balance between providing you with all your needs with out being intrusive. A lot of thought has gone into some of the fine detail of this property and the service provided. Local knowledge of good places to eat or just to visit are shared and all were spot on.

We stayed for 2 nights, having read previous reviews on trip adviser. We needed an off road parking space as we were travelling in a classic car, and Rotherfield House was just the place. It is in a very convenient location, within walking distance to the sea, even though the hill is quite steep. It is fairly quiet, so insomniacs would not be troubled by noise. There is not really a sea view from the accommodation, but we were warned about this before booking.
Jacquie was very welcoming and we stayed in the suite, where everthing had been thought of to make our stay comfortable. The suite had 2 tv sets and an excellently appoi nted bathroom, although I did miss having a bath. There was only a shower.I was initially worried about the lack of a safety mat or grab rail but in the event managed quite well. This would not be an issue for younger guests. It was lovely to have a fridge (silent) and fresh milk was supplied for us.Jacquie had also put out biscuits, peanuts and chocolate, this was a very nice touch.
Breakfast was fabulous and we were lucky enough to sit on a south facing patio outside our room in the sunshine. It was delivered on a trolley.Lovely fruit salad, yogurt, cereal, delicious croissants
and then came the cooked breakfast.I loved the smoked haddock bake as it made a change from the usual fare.Everything was very high quality and beautifully cooked.
I do have one tip for future guests-take slippers or flip flops as the floors are not carpeted,

This has to be the very best B&B we have stayed in , nothing was to much trouble for our host Jaqui. Everything was spot on and gleaming. The patio is a lovely touch we had breakfast one morning out there and it was great. selection of cooked breakfasts is fantastic.

We have just spent another great week at Rotherfield House, (our third). Jacqui makes us so welcome, we feel we are staying with a friend. The Patio Suite is very comfortable and spacious and the breakfasts are amazing, made with all local produce and fresh fruit salad to die for. It is an added bonus having a private car park, with enough space for everyones cars, hard to find in Lyme. We highly recommend this wonderful place, it truly spoils you for anywhere else!.We will be booking our fourth week very soon!

Room Tip: If you are staying for more than a couple of days, pay the extra for the patio suite, it is well wor...

Good location, parking, lovely decor all white and silver, superb breakfast (incl smoked salmon and scrambled egg if you are not into the full English) Table on patio. Lots of little treats - chocolate, luxury peanuts, quality teabags & coffee. Very friendly hosts. Good sized shower with no leaks or temperamental temperature controls and enough space to put and hang everything. Cannot fault anything
