We were initially disappointed that this was not a hotel as it appears in the Expedia site. However, once we overcame the difficulty of finding the place - narrow lanes and poor signage- it proved to be a very enjoyable stay. The room was spacious, clean and very well presented with lovely views across the countryside. The hosts, Margaret and Ian, were very welcoming and the breakfast was wonderful, freshly cooked free range eggs and all wishes catered for. The local pub provided great pub grub for dinner. Would highly recommend a stay in this B and B.

Room Tip: It's not a hotel. It's a B and B with three spacious rooms.

Wanted somewhere nice to stay for a short break in Dorset. Found this wonderful guest house and thoroughly our time here. Margaret & Ian were most welcoming and aimed to please. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with stunning views. The swimming pool and hot tub were an added bonus. The breakfasts set us up for the day and Ian's scrambled eggs are the best....
We will definitely love to return for another.
Thank you Margaret & Ian, Tracey Rosie & Brenda

Room Tip: Rural location, but stunning views, added bonus of swimming pool and hot tub

My only complaint was the description on hotels.com was incorrect it was not a hotel but a luxury guest house where I enjoyed the hot tub and swimming pool and stunning views. In the room the bed was comfortable but although no bath in bathroom it was a shower to die for because I love both a roaring hot and cold shower and I got one with amazing water pressure. Amongst the best of fifty years of traveling.

Room Tip: all rooms good

Feeling desperate for a break, decided on this B & B, helped along by the really good reviews!

Had a fabulous time and felt a little sad to be leaving it behind. What can I say .... We had the master bedroom which was just perfect. The views are just wonderful, and the attention to detail are highly commendable. Margaret and Ian are a super couple, and we both agreed we felt so at home it was like staying with family. The breakfasts are amazing too, loved Ian's scrambled eggs!! I could go on and on!!!

Really hope to return!!

We booked Arnewood House because of all the 5 star reviews it got on TripAdvisor and they were all spot-on so we are now adding our own 5 stars.
From the lovely warm welcome from Margaret & Ian Thorne, it was all just great. We have stayed in 4 star hotels with less luxurious bedrooms than here and the bathroom was so spacious and well equipped.
This apparently is the highest point in Dorset and I wished we had taken our binoculars for the spectacular views - we will next time
All polished off with a beautiful breakfast - everything faultless

Room Tip: Just a word of advice, print off the map directions as Arnewood is not right in the middle of the vi...

I stayed at Arnewood House with my family over the Bank Holiday and found the farmhouse and owners delightful. The rooms were clean, spacious and welcoming. The traditional breakfast was fantastic.

Highly recommended. Thank you.

We stayed in the master room, which is very spacious with good quality furniture & fittings. The bed is extremely comfortable with lovely soft cotton bedding. Views from the room are are spectacular! - you can see for miles. Wonderful cooked breakfast (wish I could start every day with one of those!), & the owners are friendly & welcoming - we were also given delicious homemade cookies on our arrival.
