Lovely kept gardens, nice railway ride through the forest, but expensive for a short journey. The station master / ticket inspector was great but the cafe prices let the whole experience down. I would have accepted this as a donation towards the cost of running the attraction but I thought that it was really unfair that after spending £15+ on a quick train ride, you had to pay again for the train ride in the centre of the family area.

This is one of Saffron Walden's best days out with the kids. The trains are terrific a real step back in time and the bouncy castle, lovely playground and olde-time swings very popular with the kids. The staff could not be nicer, and the little shop is good too with lots of toys and memorabilia which are affordable. Kids can get a nice souvenir for £3 which is rare. The cafe is also run by very nice staff and the cakes are home made and excellent. There is a relaxed welcoming atmosphere, and the train drivers and station staff seem to be having a great time - the teddies along the train route are a really nice touch.

We took our toddler to the model railway and she absolutely loved it. The route was quite lengthy with teddies dotted along. The woods are beautiful and viewing it by train is just lovely. However it is a little pricey. The park is great too with plenty of picnic tables and space to play. Its handy to know that there are several tunnels which go almost completely dark for quite a time for little ones during the rail ride.

Having loved this as a child myself, it is always lovely to take my 4 year old son here. They have fantastic Easter, Halloween and Christmas trains in to the woods.

The journey is so lovely especially on the steam train and you can spot teddies in the woods.

Food is nice and good choice.

Only let down this the play area which they charge extra for and staff are quite unfriendly.

A fantastic place to spend with young children. The staff are always very attentive and helpful.
A lovely train ride and play area for little ones, we love the fairy walk, all you need is parents that have imagination to make it magical for their children.
I'm told more is being added when it opens in the New Year, looking forward to our next visit!
