Great pub which was recently reopened as part of a community based ownership.
Service is fantastic and great beers and wine, all a a reasonable price too!
Plenty of outside space and recently refurbished bar, toilet area.
Will definitely be back…..well done to everyone involved in getting this pub back up and running.

The kind of pub that gladdens the heart and reminds you of all the things that a pub should be. The beer here is truly excellent, local (ish) Buntingford's stout and bitter, great beers, well kept, in peak condition and served at the right temperature - the quality of the beer has to be the most fundamental thing about a 'pub' but so many people and pubcos have forgotten this. Get that right and everything else will follow - not least customers. The British Pub is on its knees, it could learn a lot about survival from the Railway Arms.

I was so impressed with the whole setup. Warm and friendly atmosphere and staff/volunteers. Great choice of tasty beer with an efficient app to order. The drinks order arrived very quickly and with good cheer. I will definitely be back and can heartily recommend this pub.

Fantastic venue for the Saffron Social Cycling Group. Always made welcome.
When visiting without wearing lycra the staff are always accommodating and the good range of beers makes this venue a jewel in Saffron Walden

Cant be more accommodating for us. We use Railway Arms as our central hub for our rides and they have been a massive help to provide us with a lovely outdoor area, with good service, and most importantly good beer.
