We have planned to visit here a few times but never got there until today and well worth the wait. The house is like a home and the gardens no not big the park it self is. Downside the cafe is not well stocked and a bit pricy to bring a pack lunch. Not ideal for young children thought there is a play area

We visited here on a Bank Holiday, great mistake. The garden is lovely, the estate round the house makes for a delightful walk, the house is good, the stable block and the horses fascinating. The thing that lets the whole experience down is the catering. They are going for the lowest standard, with little choice and poor quality, it really is not good enough, my granddaughters found it difficult to find anything at all to eat. Charging £1.30 for a bottle of water is shocking when I can buy 6 bottles in my local supermarket for the same one for £1.90. I know it is a captive audience but English Heritage get your act together.

Beautiful parkland setting with walled fruit and flower garden and large formal garden at the back of the house with cleverly planted colourful beds. Rose-scented air in June.
Ideal for long peaceful walks. The house is well worth a visit. Good cafes for refreshments, childen's play area so a good day out for all the family.

A great day out with the family. Plenty to see in the extensive gardens and house. A relaxed atmosphere for a picnic in the grounds. Nice coffee shop and a play area for those with younger children.

Lucky we had a warm day and could stroll around the gardens with out hurry. The house is beautiful, walked around it without being hassled by anyone. Friendly staff available around the house for any questions.
