This venue more than surpassed expectations. My family and I choose The Cricketers for an impromptu night away. The atmosphere was perfect. Soft music, good quality decor and freindly staff. The room was spacious, clean, modern and great value.

As far as the food goes, we were there on a Wednesday which transpired to be fish night. Excellent fresh fish, creatively cooked and utterly delicious.

Well worth a visit v

I booked a junior suite and on arrival I was dubious about staying there. The staff members did not know the system for checking me in and honestly looked as though I was not welcome. On exerting my room the decor was old as was the furniture and the carpet was dirty. The shower room was very small and as I had booked a "junior suite" I did expect more. I told them the room was not suitable so they showed me to another room which was equally as bad. I decided not to stay and was asked by the duty manager why. I explained the problems again as she then seemed to recognise the problems and explained the hotel was due a "deep clean" . If it needs such a drastic event why do they let it get into this situation in the first place.
I would not recommend this to anyone despite the positive remarks on Tripadvisor.

It's never a pleasure staying in a hotel with work. The staff at this place seem to understand And respond to the fact. The three nights I was there were enjoyable like home from home. The food was so enjoyable. My only comment would be breakfast. The food is lovely but get the impression that you are in the way. I sat every morning wanting an get away but having to wait for the staff. I can not wait to return either business or pleasure. Ps rm 10 is the best!!!

We stayed 2 nights in the The Cricketers and were made to feel special by all the staff. The food in the restaurant was excellent with a good choice of affordable wine. The beer was a delight for real ale fans and the atmosphere very relaxing. The pub is set in an archetyptal English country setting and we stayed in the best room overlooking the village green. The Lords suite is a slight misnomer as it is really a large room without a separate sitting area, but does include an enormous and extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom has a deep bath plus a separate powerful shower. We shall definitely be returning.

What a great hotel - gorgeous room, the most comfortable bed and amazing bath and shower. The Food here is fantastic and the views onto the green will draw us back in summer to watch the cricket. Nick and Janice could not be more welcoming and helpful and the locals are so friendly. Great place from which to explore the lovely local countryside. We thoroughly recommend The Cricketers. If you get the chance to stay in Room 9 then grab it!

Room Tip: Room 9 - the suite is just gorgeous

A lovely night away at The Cricketers Arms to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff there were friendly and couldn't do enough for us, we was taken up to our room (room 5) which was clean and spacious with a sofa. The en-suite was a little on the small side and the shower was very tight.
The food at the Cricketers Arms was excellent and reasonably priced the pub had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a cosy fire, the breakfast was included in the price and was of really good quality.
Would highly recommend for a relaxing weekend away.

The Cricketers Arms hosted our wedding reception - over 100 people who had a great time and were treated fantastically well by Nick and the staff. Food and drink both went down well, and we were impressed with the care was taken over preparing food for friends with food allergies. Everyone enjoyed their accommodation, and it was great to share our day at a lovely village pub with a great, non-pretentious atmosphere and staff who were only too happy to help make it a memorable day. Highly recommended.
