“Fantastic”
Reviewed 21 August 2009

My friend and I were leaving on a cruise out of Harwich on July 25, 2009. We arrived day early and stayed overnight at the Premier Inn in Harwich. It was wonderful. The staff was great, the restaurant in the hotel was delicious and the rooms very clean and comfy. Leonard was especially wonderful and accomodating. When our cab was running late to pick us up, he personally drove us to the port in his own car and refused to take any money from us. I would reccomend staying here to anyone.

Although we were more than happy with the accomodation itself, what set this hotel apart from many others in this credit crunch time, when everyone looks for value was the outstanding service from all the staff, it was well above anything excepted & we were made to feel like valued individuals, almosts friends - no mean feat for a one night stay!
Thank you so much for a perfect start to our holiday!

Stayed here recently with hubby and father whilst having to attend a family funeral. Welcome and check in was excellent after a very long car journey. Both rooms were spacious and immaculate. The only issue was the leg up needed into and out of the bath. We were OK but elderly father struggled with that one so if you anticipate any issues with that it might be worth asking for a disabled room or shower only.

Adjacent to a Brewers Fayre. Evening meal could only be described as average but it doesn't cost a fortune. Breakfast was vast and very good - all cooked fresh to order with a huge range of continental to choose from as well. Check out time was later than other hotels so we didn't feel rushed to get out of the room.

Will definately stay here again on next visit.

This hotel is really convenient if you want to take an early boat to Hook of Holland. Also if you use public transport, because it is close to the port. It is however far away from the centre of Harwich.
Lots of locals visit the restaurant, because it is inexpensive yet good food.

As it is part of a chain of Premier Inn Hotels, it does not have much character, but the room was spacious, clean, and the beds were good.

An excellent choice for a night or two. The adjoining Brewers Fayre pub is one of the better ones with a superb selection of good quality food on the breakfast menu. But if you don't mind a short walk, the Morrisons supermarket cafe over the road does a full English breakfast for under a fiver.

Housekeeping left a little to be desired, with damp towels not replaced after the first night and basin not cleaned. But nothing that wasn't corrected on request. Generally the staff were friendly and helpful.

It was nice to see that cyclists were able to leave there bikes inside a secure area overnight.
