“Great little cafe. Lovely food and very welcoming”
Review of Kings Delicatessen & Cafe - CLOSED

Kings Delicatessen & Cafe
Cuisines: Deli, British
Description: King's is based in one of the oldest buildings in Harwich with parts dating back to the 12th century. The deli has a historic Victorian feel and the cellar provides a intimate space to enjoy your meal. The building still retains many original features and is sure to leave a lasting memory for anyone who visits. A real piece of Old England!

We stopped at King's on the way to the ferry at Harwich. Unfortunately they had sold out of the fish and chips, but they did lovely pizzas and pancakes for our little girls. I forget what we had, but we enjoyed our meals as well.

Although we arrived close to closing time we weren't rushed. We got a great welcome and our hosts were very laid back about us take our time, even though it was well past closing time by the time we finished.

Fab service and really friendly staff! We had a cream tea and I would recommend the scones! New establishment which is a real asset to Harwich.

Very welcoming - and great with our small children. Cooked sensible portions for them - and provided colouring pens and paper whilst we waited. Excellent fish and chips - very fresh fish.

We thought of having a snack following a meeting ,the portions were large and delicious , the humous and hot bread fantastic, the bowl of chilli and crisps , and goats cheese and veg tart with salads were very much enjoyed.
And excellent chocolate cookies.
This restaurant has only recently opened in old Harwich within a short walk to the quay and pier.
They also sell bread local veg and eggs, and . A take out of the pies and salads although I think there should be separate price list for take away food.

We stopped off for breakfast at the beginning of a cycle tour around Suffolk. It's a lovely place, very nice owners and the food was great. When we came back through in the evening at the end of the tour looking for a place to eat before taking the overnight ferry home we passed by the cafe. The sign on the door said that they closed at 2pm, 4 hours before. In spite of this the owners welcomed us in and cooked us a meal. It was a very nice bookend to a little holiday

Thank you for your kind review, it was your initial visit that convinced us that 2pm was too early to close. We now have a regular trade in visitors heading to the ferry. We hope that one day we will see you and your family again plus your amazing bike! The Kings Team
