My wife hates surprises, but I took the risk and whisked her away for her birthday to the Wheatsheaf. The reception was somewhat quaint but efficient, but the room, though not the largest was great, with a large en suite bathroom with a rainforest shower and huge pedestal bath. There was no shelf though in the bathroom, and that was a little inconvenient! The bed was very comfortable, but the room a little warm, but this was one of those rare hot middle Englands nights; mercifully the kitchen vent stopped at 11pm so we were not disturbed. All in all it was a comfortable night, with an excellent breakfast. One small whinge; why not include a kettle and coffee and tea making facilities in the room? it is a small expense but it does save the guests hassle.

Room Tip: I would hate a room opening onto the Garden

Lovely quaint inn which we stayed in for one night. staff, helpful and very friendly. The room was small but beautifully decorated. The shower water a bit iffy in that it fluctuated between full on and a dribble. Had dinner in the garden which was lovely and again the staff so friendly and helpful.
Had a ghostly experience overnight . 3.15 am - The sound of a child running through the landing which activated the light sensor yet no one was there! Apart form that we slept well although you can hear the bar below.

Breakfast was again superb. Buck's Fizz, cheeses, cereal, toast, croissants. Full English was extra but didn't have that as there was enough on the buffet.

Quite pricy but all in all a nice stopover

Room Tip: If you don't like bar noise ask for a room away from it

We had never heard of Northleach until we hired a cottage for the weekend. What a find only 2min from our accommodation and the best steak we have had for a while. The staff were very friendly especially our waitress Briony where nothing was too much trouble. We cant wait to return in the winter and chill out in the snug with a few refreshments and our bellies full.

Room Tip: always book for the restaurant

I travelled here with my partner, we were going to the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. The reception on arrival was friendly and the staff couldn't do enough for us, we were shown to our room, which was a double deluxe, it was spotlessly clean, with a huge bed, which was good as it was a very warm night !! We ate in the hotel for our evening meal the food and service were great, the breakfast was continental, which was ok, full cooked breakfast was available, but at extra cost. Overall our stay was relaxing and enjoyable, the surrounding area was also beautiful.

We have just arrived back after an overnight stay at The Wheatsheaf. We don't see my sister and her husband as much as we would like so wanted somewhere really nice for an overnight stay. what a lovely place! As soon as we arrived we were greated by Lionel and shown to our rooms. they were gorgeous! I went for two 'very good rooms when booking and they certainly were, large rolltops baths, comfy beds, beautiful decor. Downstairs in the bar Lionel gave me samples of a couple of different beers before I made up my mind. We sat in the lovely gardens and had a couple of drinks before then having dinner. Excellent food served by very lovely, friendly staff. The cheese souffle was wonderful! and the ginger and honey ice-cream, yummy or what! Breakfast in the morning was equally excellent.
I would definately recommend The Wheatsheaf. The rooms were beautiful, loved all the little things to, the chocolate, the gorgeous smellies in the bathroom, great food, lovely staff and excellent service.

Room Tip: We had rooms 14 and 15, both 'very good rooms'. 15 is on the street side but we weren't...

We arrived a little late - only 30 minutes before our dinner reservation. The staff were very welcoming - all the staff were great - and the meal was excellent. This is an old inn and B&B is expensive. What detracts from its being a perfect break, is the very small size of the bedroom, with no place for luggage, and the very hot water, unlagged and unboxed, large bore pipe which runs through the room and acts as a very effective radiator. This makes the room unbearably hot in summer even with the window wide open. In addition, the limited space is reflected in the small bathroom with an extremely small shower in which it is impossible to bend down to wash ones lower legs and feet.
Northleach is a charming village and well worth a visit.

The Wheatsheaf was a faultless experience. The whole weekend spent there was a pleasure. The Wheatsheaf is a traditional English country village pub, which has turned itself into a boutique hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, for a weekend break or romantic getaway.

The room was tastefully decorated in a simple country style, with a corner bathroom. Our room was directly above the hotels main bar, and I can honestly say we only heard minimal noise from the floor below, and we slept soundly all night.

The service is definitely worth remarking on. All of the staff were cheerful, warm and friendly. We definitely felt welcomed and valued.

The food in the restaurant is pricey, but it was truly delicious. We enjoyed the food so much the first night we ate there the second night; there was more than enough choice of food on the menu. The home brewed Bobby's Beer is definitely worth a pint or two! The breakfasts also did not disappoint.

The Wheatsheaf is in a good location for exploring the Cotswolds.

There is no 3G signal in the village, but the Wheatsheaf does have wifi.

There is some limited off street parking behind the pub, but there is plenty of parking on the street.
