On a sunny evening I can't imagine a nicer setting than the new inn. We had a great evening with good food and service.

If I have visitors from overseas I usually take them to the New Inn as the situation is simply perfect and there is a good selection of local brews which my husband appreciates. I just wish the food were better so we usually just have a drink and avoid the food. It's adequate but with a bit more effort this place could be just amazing.

For the scenery, the setting and the garden this is one of the best pubs in the country. The selection of ciders is also really excellent. However, the service is consistently unfriendly and has been for years! No one who works there knows the least thing about hospitality, it's like a private club for a few locals and anyone else who shows up is there strictly for a business transaction. Such a shame! Beautiful place, lousy atmosphere.

My daughter ( Racheal ) and I (Gill) stumbled across this fantastic little gem of a pub in aug 2013.
We had planned to camp on site up the hill buy due to a lack of security were invited too park and stay in pub we had the best night in a long time sooo friendly staff and locals and planned to go back but had to delay BUT we will be back as soon as we can ....
The steaks were cooked to perfection and the cider delicious the land lord wasn't bad either !!!
Thanks Les and hope to see you again soon xxx
