“Cosy Retreat”
Reviewed 11 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We had to arrange accommodation at short notice close tor the vet hospital in Dursley where our dog was booked in for an urgent operation. We found One Spring Bank to be peaceful and relaxing - just what was needed to counter the inevitable worry and stress we were experiencing at the time. Shirley was welcoming without being intrusive. We got the feeling that nothing would have been too much trouble if the need arose. The cottage was immaculate wirth a comprehensive inventory. Personal touches such as quirky ornaments, a good range of books/ dvds and a dog proofed stairgate (!) helped to give the cottage a home from home feel. We look forward to returning and staying longer to enjoy a more traditional holiday break and do justice to this lovely part of Gloucestershire.

“Lovely rental - but beware the bells!”
Reviewed 28 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding at the (very nearby) church. It is a really nice cottage with two bedrooms and a reasonably comfortable sofa-bed in the main room downstairs (though I wouldn't want to sleep on it for many more nights).

The garden is pretty and there seem to be excellent walks nearby. Tesco is about a mile away. I was impressed with the village (Cam); it looks like a nice place to live.

The bathroom, downstairs, was excellent, as was the kitchen. The boiler is substantial, so there's plenty of hot water and heating. There's plenty of everything, in fact. Nice little touch were the 'welcome' gifts (pity about the home-made marmalade, which was mouldy, but that happens!).

The main issue, and I'm surprised no-one has mentioned this, is the proximity to the church. Whilst it is a lovely Anglican church, its bells toll every 15 minutes, 24/7. That's right, every 15 minutes all through the night! It was impossible for me to sleep in the front bedroom with the window ajar. Downstairs was much better with the windows closed, but that might be oppressive in the height of summer. There was no issue in the rear bedroom. It's also worth mentioning that if there is someone sleeping downstairs then access to the bathroom during the night means walking past them.

Apart from the bells, I would highly recommend this rental. If you're anything but a very heavy sleeper, then you need to avoid the front bedroom.

“A relaxing week in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 19 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012

The cottage was in a beautiful village and was a great base for the family with everything we needed. It was great to be in the country but also have the town of Dursley only a short walk away with supermarket, swimming pool etc.
It was a great place to stay if you are keen walkers as there were a number of great walks we started from the cottage and others we took a short drive to.
We stayed at OneSpringBank with a 6 month old and his grandparents and I would definitely come back next year when he's a toddler and do the same again.
