Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: Following its refurbishment in 2014, Harborough Museum features new displays that celebrate the history and people of Market Harborough and its surrounding area. As well as the return of the Hallaton Treasure, with items including Iron Age coins and a Roman helmet, visitors can now step inside the reconstructed Falkner’s boot and shoe making workshop. With changing displays in a dedicated special exhibition space and a shared entrance with the new library, this is an exciting, fresh space for the town.

Now within the re-vamped council offices, along with the library, and with displays that feature the history of Market Harborough.
Some very special contents, superbly displayed with text and graphics to match.

I asked where was the museum after several people one answered it was there but that's all that is left now, a small display shame I went. Nice town for window shopping though so the day wasn't all that bad

Sad to say that as a result of re-development this excellent small museum has closed down. It held Symington's corset factory collection as well as the Hallaton helmet - a stunning artifact.

This museum is excellent to visit for a few hours with the children. I went with a small group of school children on an organised trip. The museum staff were very helpful and there are lots of interactive displays that the children can be involved with. I have lived in this area for a number of year and had never visited until now but I shall be going again when it reopens after the refurbishment.

I don't like museums; but this one I could relate to as some of the exhibits came from a period when I was a child. I still think about what I saw.
