“Been staying here since 1996”
Reviewed 1 August 2011

The best hotel in Leicestershire and all points of the compass, Bruce and Chris are so cool, nothing is too much for them, even for a rugby mad Welshman.

A great nights sleep, good food, and hospitality from the hosts that bring you back every time.

Room Tip: They are all good

Thanks for this DaiScarlets. How could we discriminate against you, just for being a rugby mad Welshman?

Is it really as long ago as 1996 since you first came to stay?

It's good to know that guests like to come back to us on a frequent basis. Regular guests seem to have favourite rooms and, if we can, we try and make the right room available for each one.

Long may you continue to keep coming. We love hearing your rugby stories, your advice to Mr. Blair/Brown/Cameron and about your adventures with the 'smalls' (grandchildren).

Very best

Christine & Bruce

We had a firm's party last week and I put some of my staff up at Dingley Lodge at the last minute. Even though Bruce and Chris were supposed to be closed that weekend, the level of service they provided was beyond the call of duty and we can't praise them enough for going out of their way to make us feel not only welcome but also wanted. Their humour and attention to detail made it a really enjoyable stay and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

Many thanks to you both.

Many thanks for another kind review Tony.
I confess I was trying to pick up a few ideas about websites from such a knowledgeable crew and, without being in any way condescending, your guests were more than happy to give us some pointers.
It's always good when people are supportive and make positive comments about our service and our hospitality; it gives us an extra boost to help us through a busy day! Good to know, too, that people want to return to stay with us after their first visit.
Thanks again

Working long days and hardly having time to stop we were all very grateful for the delicious home cooked food, cripsy clean bed linnen and lovely hot showers that were provided for us. A peaceful retreat after a long day in the field! The room was clean and comfortable with flat-screen television and selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. Meals were fresh and cooked to order.

Room Tip: Being a Victorian property the rooms vary in size so you should specify if you require a larger room...

This is the second time that my husband and I have stayed here. On this occasion, my sister and her husband came as well, as we were attending a family function in nearby Market Harborough. Thank you Christine for making our return so good. Your welcome and friendliness is second to none. I could come back tomorrow for the breakfast!
Dingley Lodge is excellent value for money and though " in the middle of nowhere" has easy access to Market Harborough and surrounding villages. In fact, if you travel by train, Market Harborough station is only about 4 miles away, so a taxi wouldn't cost the earth. There are several country walks in the area but the signs are difficult to follow if you don't have a map.

We had an overnight stay here, on our way home from Scotland, as it was almost exactly half-way.
The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly, whilst not overdoing it. I hope we won't raise unreasonable expectations by saying that Bruce offered to drive us into Market Harborough in the evening so that we could go to a restaurant - which is really above and beyond what one would expect.
The house and views are beautiful, and we thoroughly recommend it. They had several other people staying on the night we were there, and they had all been there before, which endorses our view of how good the hotel is. Definitely NOT corporate!

My girlfriend and I stayed with Christine and Bruce as we were on a biking tour and taking in a collegues surprise 50th birthday party. Bruce insisted on running us down to the venue at Market Harborough which was greatly appreciated. We stayed for two nights and Christine prepared a wonderful evening meal for us on the Sunday night. They are a smashing couple and I will certainly be returning in the future to vist them again. The location is real nice and a great house with loads of character and you could not wish to meet nicer people
