On July13th,
to celebrate our sons 22nd birthday I purchased a Birds Of Prey Experience, which was a total surprise to him. What a fabulous day we all had ( ages 22- 76 yrs ). We were greeted by the lovely Maureen in the cafe selling wonderful home made cakes and later a delicious meal (reasonably priced). Bill, the Falconer, with his extensive knowledge & passion for his beautiful birds of prey made the whole experience a truly memorable one. Our son was overwhelmed handling and flying the Barn Owl, Harris Hawk and especially the Canadian Red Tail. To a point of him asking if Bill wanted any help at weekends (without pay!) If you are a family looking for a good day out, as well as the birds there are many animals children can hold. This is well run establishment. Without a doubt, we shall be returning with our friends to this great place. Thankyou Bill, Maureen & staff.

we visited Tuesday 8th July with ages ranging from 12 to 78 and on arrival were very pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable entry fee and the attentiveness and friendliness of all the staff . We were given lots of information regarding feeding times, bird displays etc and as a disabled person with poor mobility i found it quite easy to manage. We have visited many animal type parks over the years and i can honestly say what a pleasure it was to be able to be so hands on with the animals but with supervision by the very knowledgeable staff, the kids loved it and my mother who was celebrating her 78th birthday thought it was best present ever !! We all bottle fed the lambs, nursed baby goats, rabbits, chicks , scratched the pigs and the kids even got free pony rides , bird of prey display scheduled for afternoon unfortunately ruined by freak thunderstorm but we visited the farm tearooms for lunch , lots of homemade food on offer at reasonable prices and good sized portions, which makes a nice change.A thoroughly great day out , next time would take a picnic as well and stay longer...brilliant!!

On arrival looked small, but don't let this put you off! Wasn't expensive admission, & from arriving the staff were very attentive, full of knowledge & answering any questions our 6yr old had. We have never been anywhere before that has allowed us to be so hands on!! We all had chance to handle the animals, I was amazed, especially by being able to handle the harris hawk, and the gorgeous kid that fell asleep on my knee! Cannot wait to come back with other children in the family that will enjoy the hands in experience :-) also the food was lovely!! Especially the homemade galaxy caramel choc cake!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your vistor experience - and obvously we take note if anyone has found it disappointing and will try to rectify whatever it was that wasn't right if it is brought to our attention. Our aim is to provide an enjoyable day out for the family at a sensible price - and I believe on balance we manage to achieve this looking at other reviews. Inevitably we cannot appeal to everyone and to many our small size is part of the attraction - it enables us to be very hands on and informal enabling children (and adults..) to actively interact with all the animals including the birds of prey. We are set on 6 acres and include in our admission
( which if you arrive before 11 is just £5.00 per person) pony rides, bird demonstrations, lamb feeding, animal handling, free and unlimited time on the bouncy castle, free parking, free carers with any disabled customer and free children under 3. Our tea gardens and play areas are free to use if you are just having a cup of tea or an spot of lunch. We are classed as an outdoor attraction and as such open only for a short season because of the weather - in the sun it can be a lovely relaxing day out here - in the cold and the rain it is not - although you can still enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and home made cakes in the tea room to pass the time away maybe!!

We visited with our 3 children ages 10, 7 and 2 on Sunday. As soon as we arrived we were told they would be feeding the lambs and did we want to come over. Thought we would just be watching the staff feeding them but every child was given a bottle to feed a lamb themselves, which the kids all loved. Next we listened to a man talk about 3 different birds of prey which was interesting. Again children were allowed to get involved and our daughter put on a glove and held a barn owl and a hawk. Its so nice that the children are encouraged to interact with the animals as at some places it is discourage. We bought a bag of food from reception which we were allowed to feed the larger animals. My daughter held a baby rabbit and one of the staff got a baby goat out of its pen so the children could have a close up look. All the staff are friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they do. There is a small play area with a bouncy castle, nothing special but a nice way to finished off the day. We only got drinks from the cafe but it looked nice inside and the sold some nice cakes etc. We were really pleased with our day out here and will definitely visit again.
