“Don't stay in room 301 and your stay may be adequate!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Make sure that if you are staying in this hotel that you do not stay in room 301, particularly in summer. We recently stayed in this hotel for a wedding. The wedding itself was a really lovely day but unfortunately the room that we stayed in was poor, particularly considering it cost £99 a night on a special wedding rate. There was parcel tape holding the bathroom door handle on and the base of the chair in the bedroom falls off if you sit too far forward. The bed itself is dated as you can feel some of the springs coming through. As with alot of hotels, the rooms are hot, particularly in June, and without air conditioning it is necessary to have the window open. However, this room is right next to the kitchen extractor fan which is incredibly loud, think of a constant truck sound and it is similar to that, and goes on until about 1:30am in the morning and starts again in the early hours. The only benefit is that it does drown out some of the noise of the kitchen staff preparing breakfast. The other issue is that, if you put the bathroom light on then the bathroom fan continues for at least 30 minutes afterwards, adding to the noise levels so as one stops the other continues. When we tried phoning reception to find out how to switch it off, the phone went straight to answer machine. Needless to say we hardly slept a wink.

The shower is also very poor. The water goes on and off and the only way to wash is to hold it vertical right next to your skin and you may get enough to rinse.

The breakfast is adequate, similar to most help yourself breakfasts. The only other thing I would mention is that the bar staff were particularly slow and scarce so you may wait a while for a drink.

Having said this, our friends who also stayed in the hotel found the rooms perfectly adequate, if a little dated so it perhaps depends on the luck of the draw.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 301!

If you need to use this hotel for a base for a golfing holiday you may be satisfied with whats on offer. We found it to be dated and shabby, staff polite but uninterested. Completely different experience from the telephone booking with operator Ruby who was fantastic. We were there to celebrate a big birthday and bigger wedding anniversary...a bit of a let down, especially the breakfast which was cold. A note of concern...fire doors were kept open...didnt think that was supposed to happen? First trip to a Best Western possibly our last.

Kenwick park is an amazing place to stay, food and staff are fantastic and the grounds are enough to blow anyone away. I stayed in room 211, which I feel was a little dated for the price of £150 for the night bnb. maybe kenwick should think about updating and modernising there rooms to a higher quality. Please don't think our room was shabby because it wasn't, it was very clean and smelt very fresh with great tea, coffee and even biscuits in the room.

Room Tip: Bridal suite looked amazing and some other rooms have been modernised so do ask for one of them

The hotel was comfortable (we had a large ground floor room overlooking the golf course) and all the staff were very friendly. The meals were very good. It was very convenient for visiting places of interest around Lincolnshire.

A lovely hotel, great location in an idyllic countryside setting

Our room was big, in a separate lodge, but OK.

My major down is that the advertised free wifi in all rooms doesn't actually work. Only wifi is in reception. Very poor and absolutely misleading. Third world.

The leisure facilities are excellent, large pool, sauna etc, golf course.

Very enjoyable and relaxing weekend. Both the hotel and spa were excellent. The leisure facilities included squash, swimming pool, gym and tennis courts. Food was marvellous. If I was a golfer I probably would have had a great game on their wonderful golf course.
