“It may be small but it is well worth the visit”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

Even if you feel you have seen enough museums, you will enjoy what Louth museum has to offer. It is small, has a good range of exhibits, does not require too much concentration and is a good attraction to share with children. We found the volunteer staff to be friendly and very helpful. Your visit will come with offer of a 10 percent discount on food and drinks from a nearby café.

“A little gem”
Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

Is a small but perfectly formed little museum outlining the history of the Georgian market town of Louth from pre history to today via events in the history of the town. The exhibits are interesting, well labelled and some are hands on. The place is child friendly with plenty of things to keep them occupied and the attentive staff (who are all unpaid volunteers) were highly likeable and made a real fuss of us. Deserved to be busier than it was.

“A wonderful Panorama”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Well worth a visit with polite, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Having climbed the steeple of Saint James to take in the incredible view then it was amazing to see Browns Panorama of the town of Louth and much further beyond in the Museum. He must have had incredible eyesight and an even more astonishing memory not to mention his sense of scale. Go if only to see this incredible painting. A 10% discount ticket for use in the tea rooms nearby and Pay and Display parking only 20 yards from the Museum. £1.0 for an hour is just long enough. The car park is next to the river. It is only a small Museum on 2 floors but it has somehow squeezed an escalator for the disabled inside it.
Derry Diamond.

“Great Local Museum”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

This smallish museum in Louth has a wonderful and surprisingly large, collection of artefacts. We especially enjoyed the upstairs display about the flood of 1920. The volunteers were extremely helpful and informative and it was good see that quite a number of people were visiting.
