“Cosy retreat for two surrounded by history and good Yorkshire food.”

Lovely cottage centrally located in village of Middleham surrounded by race horse trainers. Easy to book and helpful owners. Comfy bed, cosy sitting room and well equipped kitchen, not that we cooked much as local pubs served delicious hearty meals. Heaters quickly warmed the cottage. Only downside was the smell of soot in the sitting room, we didn't use the log burner as it was warm weather during our stay.
Overall great accommodation which we would recommend to friends and family.

“Jenny Wren and Middleham well worth a visit”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Great cottage, small, compact with brand new kitchen and spotlessly clean throughout. It has a comprehensive selection of books and pamphlets describing local and further outlying places to visit.
The old church just up the lane from the house is well worth a visit as is Middleham Castle.
Middleham is a friendly place, has a general store, two tea rooms and four licensed establishments. It also has a 'chippie' and a small Chinese restaurant/takeaway, both open on certain days of the week.
If you like horses Middleham is the place to be there is at least four stables and you will see plenty coming back from exercising just outside the town.
Middleham is an excellent base for touring the surrounding area well within easy reach of most main places of interest I would put Jervaulx Abbey on your to see list and within a fifteen minute drive.

“Charming and perfectly situated”
Reviewed 18 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This was a lovely cottage which was very comfortable and well-appointed. From my point of view it was ideally situated: within three minutes walk of four pubs, two of which were excellent. Middleham is a lovely little town generally with the added interest of the race horses. There is loads to do in the area, especially if you like walking.
The cottage is a quiet location and provides everything a couple could need on a cottage holiday. The kitchen is well-equipped and the sitting room is spacious. The bedroom is cosy with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom is small but has a reasonable shower.WiFi is excellent and there was a lot of helpful local information in the cottage. The owners were very helpful and really seemed to care that we were comfortable. (All by text/email: they did not interfere at all.)
We had a lovely holiday there and I would heartily recommend Jenny Wren Cottage.
