Arriving in the pretty seaside town of Staithes we reached the Captain Cook Inn which was our destination for the night while walking the Cleveland Way. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and there were great views from our window. The food was cheap, but the quality was good. We had a paddle of beer (3 different types) to accompany our meal and the rhubarb tasting beer was quite a talking point. This place was great value for money and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there

While walking the Cleveland this was one of 21 pubs we visited, and myself and my daughter both thought it was the best. The beer was good, and cheap, the atmosphere was good and the locals and the staff were friendly and happy to chat/get involved in some banter with us.

On another day it might be different, we may have just gone in a the right time, it might not be your type of pub, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed here for a quick break away. The room was spacious and clean with little added extras like water bottles in the room and luxury toiletries.

The evening meal was good, but we were in a dining room alone.... not that we minded but we felt out of the way. However, the bar area was a bit local and we felt uncomfortable there.
Staff were excellent and friendly throughout.

The bed was horrendous. The mattress was so uncomfortable, we both struggled to sleep and got up with aches and pains. Definitely needs replacing!

Stayed for the weekend with my partner and I couldn't fault this lovely hotel. Very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome.

The breakfast was excellent and I have never had poached eggs so good! We had dinner once at the hotel during our stay; portions were generous and food quality was good.

Or room was spacious and clean with lots of tea and coffee supplied. My only critism were the slamming doors of the hotel rooms early in the morning - this could be easily solved by a quick adjustment of the fire door closers.

We will definitely be staying here again.
