“Delightful dunsley”
Reviewed 9 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Dunsley is a well appointed comfortable house in the heart of staithes. Everything in the cottage is thought through with lots of attention to detail. The bedroom is lovely and light with a very comfortable bed, (double, not king ). Lovely kitchen and dining area, which would be great in the winter with the fire lit. We were fortunate to have wall to wall sunshine in our week in september so were able to take advantage of the sitting out area. a couple of minutes walk takes you to the cod and lobster which is right next to the beach and does usual pub food with a few extra seafood dishes on the special. I would recommend Dunsley very highly, the cottage is fab and great situation in lovely staithes.

“Charming seaside getaway.”
Reviewed 27 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Dunsley Cottage is beautiful, really tastefully decorated to a very high standard - yet still very cosy and welcoming, with every need catered for. Each room is on a different floor - so you have to be okay with a steep staircase, but this only added to the charm of the place as far we were concerned. Staithes itself is a tiny, quaint village (at the bottom of a rather steep hill), so peaceful it almost didn't feel real! Everyone very friendly - and would really recommend the Cod and Lobster pub - excellent chips. Whitby was only a 15 minute drive away, and also enjoyed the cliff-tram at nearby Saltburn. We would really recommend this cottage as a charming and peaceful retreat.

“A wonderful week in an idyllic cottage”
Reviewed 22 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Dunsley is beautifully restored and so clean that you feel you are the first visitors to stay there. We were provided with really helpful information from the owners in advance and there is so much to do locally which is all well documented in a helpful folder. The kitchen is very well appointed and the bed was so comfortable! Dunsley is so much more than the majority of 'rental properties' you come across; it is more like a boutique hotel.
Staithes is steeped in history and has two good pubs and a lovely bistro. It is also a wonderful base from which to explore the local area. We particularly enjoyed Whitby, Runswick, Scarborough, Saltburn and Goathland. After such a good week we are looking forward to going back!

“Dunsley is...”
Reviewed 10 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Dunsley is... immaculate, cosy, very comfortable, quiet and laid back! We loved Staithes and all its little streets and passageways. Try the Smoked Salmon at the Cod & Lobster pub.

“The perfect stress busting break”
Reviewed 7 June 2012 for a stay in May 2012

The cottage has recently been renovated to a high standard and is spotlessly clean with lots of nice finishing touches which create a home from home feeling. It has everything you need for a short stay. The kitchen is well equipped with the added bonus of a lovely working fireplace. The bedroom is spacious and on the top floor is a cosy sitting room and the bathroom - which has a large and very efficient shower but no bath.
This is a cottage for the physically active. You have to be OK with steep twisting stairs and you will end up parking some distance (and a very steep hill) away from the cottage but if yopu can deal with that (and we could easily) you will love it.
Staithes is very picturesque with pubs and shops (including an excellent buthchers) in the village, and the walks along the Cleveland way nearby are spectacular. The little seating area at the front catches the afternoon and evening sun and is the perfect place to relax after a long walk.

“The perfect retreat”
Reviewed 5 May 2012 for a stay in April 2012

On entering Dunsley you immediately start to unwind. A truly peaceful and relaxing holiday. The interior was far superior than we expected. Tastefully furnished and immaculate throughout. 2 Minutes walk from the harbour, with a choice of two pubs providing food and lucky for us live music. The locals are very friendly and welcoming.
Ideally situated for a weekend retreat or a walkers adventure. Sad to leave, will be returning soon.

“Perfect escape”
Reviewed 22 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

A perfect place for a relaxing break, great to be able to set off for a walk without having to resort to the car. A 2 minute wander through cobbled streets to the beach/harbour and near enough take a mug of coffee down to the river and enjoy the view and atmosphere. The cottage inside has a warm, cosy feel bringing together the original features you would expect in a cottage of this age with all the modern facilities you need for your stay.

Liked best: Everything was lovely, from a practical point of view there was a very good information pack and simple to operate systems. Great fish and chip shop at the top of the hill!
Liked least: Shower head leaps off when water pressure changes - beware!

Thanks for the feedback, we have now secured the shower head! It still moves on the rail but Duncan has made an attachment so it can't fall off. We've also bought beautiful Zack stainless steel shelf-caddies for the shower... they look very classy.
