“The most beautiful cottage in Staithes!”

My partner and I stayed in Driftwood Cottage for a long weekend in May - The Cottage is so beautiful it should be featured in a magazine!

We loved everything about it! The cottage has been so stylishly decorated and it is obvious the owners have taken a lot of care renovating as it’s all just perfectly thought out.

Everything is of a high standard, the double bed is so comfy with lovely bedding. The en-suite bathroom has a gorgeous shower and everything was sparkling clean! The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed sitting at the dining table with a drink looking at the sea. The decorative touches are all gorgeous and make it so cosy. The best part of our holiday was definitely staying in Driftwood Cottage.

We loved sitting on the beach, crabbing and visiting the lovely vintage shop and adjoining tea rooms for a midday treat! Both pubs in Staithes are also lovely and provided a really warm welcome. The fish and chips at the Cod and Lobster are delicious!

We also found Staithes a perfect base to explore the nightlife and restaurants that Whitby has to offer!

We’ll definitely be back for a longer break in the near future!

“Absolutely stunning cottage”

We stayed here for three nights and what a fantastic break we had. Driftwood cottage is absolutely delightful! The decor is beautiful and immaculately clean. This really helped us unwind and relax after a busy few months at work! The bedrooms were so cosy and the bathrooms were perfect for our family, two adults, a teenager and a six year old!
We had some great days out walking the Cleveland Way and a gorgeous day in Sandsend too, but all of us agreed, getting back to Driftwood cottage was the highlight! Thanks so much for all the thought put into this lovely place, we WILL be back!!! Xx

“A gorgeous cosy seaside retreat!”

We stayed in Driftwood Cottage mid week during February 2015. The cottage is the most beautiful cottage I have seen and the best self catering cottage we have stayed in. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout. It's location is perfect with the sea literally being on your doorstep and the quiet friendly pub next door! The owner was so accommodating seeing to all our needs and making us feel very welcome. Staithes is a beautiful, quiet place to visit and Driftwood Cottage is the ideal cosy cottage to stay in. Both definitely worth a visit!!

“Comfort of your own home and more”
Reviewed 26 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Fantastic and comfortable, gorgeous holiday cottage. Everything that you need and more. Home from home.

Cozy log fire, and underfloor heating to warm you up after a hike along the Cleveland way.

Everything that you could wish for whether you want a total chill out, a walking holiday or time spent on the beach with your kids, Staithes has it all. A couple of cozy pubs, a couple of restaurants and endless walking which ever way you choose. Of course you are not far from Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Whitby, Robins Hood Bay and Scarborough.

If you choose not to eat out, then the kitchen is superbly equipped to cook at home.

Highly recommend. Beautifully and tastefully done. Thanks Jacqui for a lovely weekend in your gorgeous cottage.

“Tastefully modernised romantic coastal cottage”
Reviewed 5 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Having stayed in other cottages in Staithes I can confidently say that Driftwood sits amongst the best and is of a gold standard when it comes to holiday cottages. We stayed at Driftwood cottage for 3 nights at the end of January/beginning of February. Driftwood is an old cottage that has been thoughtfully and attractively modernized. It is beautifully decorated with wonderful attention to detail. Little things that we loved included the gorgeous hand wash next to the sink. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding and cushions looked gorgeous. There’s also a fabulous en-suite shower in the top floor double bedroom. My parents came to stay whilst we were there and they found the single beds very comfortable and they had there own bathroom as well.

Jacqui and her husband were a great help when we were unsure about the heating and came round with an extra bag of wood for the wood burning stove, which we thought was a very kind thing to do and was an example to us of the great attention to detail that they give as cottage owners. Once the heating was on the cottage was snug and wonderfully warm. It’s in a great location situated on the harbor next to the Cod and Lobster and it has immediate access to the village and surrounding facilities (there’s a little café round the corner that does great cappuccinos and tasty bacon sandwiches). Its location also makes it easy to drop off suitcases. The cottage also has great Wi-fi connection.

“Beautiful little retreat”
Reviewed 7 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

On looking at the photos of the cottage, we (4 girls travelling to celebrate a birthday) were looking forward to our post Xmas & new year break. However, on walking into the cottage, our expectations were greatly exceeded.
It is so beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, the layout is cleverly thought out and it is so comfortable and well equipped too. As a bonus there were lovely Christmas decorations up.
On top of that we were a stones throw from the beach and pub, and a short walk (albeit uphill) from the co-op.
Thing to note for visitors, is that car parking is at the top of the hill, but there is a place to unload outside of the cottage so it doesn't prove a problem and the hill offers great views over the harbour.

Just returned from driftwood and was very sad to leave. We had a wonderful, relaxing break. The cottage is very tastefully decorated, immaculately presented and everything was thought of from underfloor heating to plenty of logs for the fire. Location was brilliant, i Would highly recommend to everyone! And we will definitely return. Thank you
