“The old post office definitely made its stamp on us!”
Reviewed 14 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We are a group of 8 friends, all of us retired. We usually go away for New Year, however this year we decided to go later. Whilst most of the country was experiencing rain, gales, floods and general bad weather we were fortunate enough to have blue skies and excellent weather. Our cottage was perfect. We all enjoy walking which we did every day and it was lovely to come home to log burning stoves(with plenty of logs provided). The cottage is so comfortable and has the added advantage of being next door to a fantastic pub which serves excellent food.(They also sell good cask ales which was a big hit with our husbands!) The kitchen is well equipped with a tremendous range, ideal for cooking for a large group. There is also a games room in the cellar we enjoyed a few competitive table tennis games early evening. The house is brilliantly located for local walks to Boulmer,Alnwick,Warkworth and the regular bus service X18 means you can catch the bus almost to the door(brilliant if you have a bus pass). We enjoyed trips out to Bamburgh, Sea houses, the famous kippers house at Crashed. Walks along theunspoilt beaches are exhilarating. We certainly enjoyed our stay in the old post officein Alnmouth.George and Debbie certainly mAde our stay memorable,a lovely touch was the home made lemon drizzle cake on arrival and the complimentary wine on arrival. Thanks again for a super stay. Jane Parkin and friends

It is great to hear that you enjoyed The Old Post Office and of course, Alnmouth and the surrounding area. We try to explain to potential visitors that the house is equipped for winter breaks as well summer holidays. The wood burning stoves really make the house cosy but it is also has excellent central heating for those who don't want to light the stoves. We are delighted to hear that the Games Room was used by "older" visitors and that the table tennis is a success! We hope you will come and stay with us again sometime and thank you.

“Home from home - but better! The only downside was leaving.”
Reviewed 24 July 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We have stayed at The Old Post Office for the last two years and, we hope, will return for many years to come - 2014 is booked already! This is the ideal property for largish groups of family/friends and is extremely comfortable and well appointed.

George and Debbie couldn't be more helpful and have put a lot into making The Old Post Office our family's favourite destination.

Alnmouth is a beautiful village, yet with first class amenities and close to larger towns such as Alnwick.
