“Great fresh food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014 via mobile

My wife and I dropped in on spec after recommendations from friends. The menu is straightforward but the ingredients are all fresh and locally sourced. It is ideal for a simple lunch and also to buy fresh vegetables. We plan now to drop in regularly whenever we are passing.

“Something is lacking”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013 via mobile

We've been here a number if times - we like the informality and the freshly cooked food is appealing.
But there's something missing. There's little or no connection between customers and staff. A haughty "excuse me" instead of an apologetic "could it just squeeze through?" and a list of cold drinks (not on display nor listed on the boards) reeled off in double quick time rather than allowing you the time and space to decide. Counter that with the 10 minutes+ it took for the cappuccino to arrive!
Not enough to stop me going back, which we certainly will. But empathetic and engaging customer service? No, that's certainly lacking.

“Excellent coffee and friendly service in very attractive building.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

Our walking group popped in and had a lovely coffee. Lots of very fresh tempting cakes and goodies on offer. Excellent choices for lunchtime too. Useful place as a post office and small local shop in the same building. There is also a very attractive shop at the front selling home wares and gifts for the home - called Life. Sadly we were in walking gear so not able to pop into the shop.

“Lovely!”

All of the food is so inventive, fresh, healthy and incredibly gourmet... And the coffee is really the best in the area. I just love getting the opportunity to come here. Such a lovely place!

“Sandwich to take away”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013

Popped in to get a takeaway sandwich which at £4.95 was a bit steep, there were no baguettes left at 130 which was a bit disappointing. As sandwich took so long to appear the man took £1 off each sandwich, which was still expensive for a take away sandwich. There didn't seem to be, mind I didn't ask if there was, any children menu options. If there is then it wasn't apparent, if there isn't then maybe it could be helpful.
