Like many of the other reviews, my fiance and I visited the White Hart on a groupon deal. Our room (the caramel room) was huge, with an enormous and very comfortable bed. There was tea and coffee facilities which included, green, camomile, earl grey and peppermint tea. The bathroom was lovely, with the added luxury of a roll top bath. To access wifi in the rooms there is a small charge of £2 for 24 hours, which can be purchased through the TV in the room or via reception. The cooked breakfast each morning was very tasty which we were more than happy with, however the choices were limited for those who prefer a continental breakfast. The groupon included a three course dinner which included everything on the regular menu except fillet steak (which we thought to be reasonable). Every dish was delicious and the portions were generous. We had a bottle of wine with our meal which was lovely and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful, but were not intrusive, which is something we appreciate. The surrounding area is beautiful, as is the nearby town, Henley. There is not much to do in the bad weather, but it would be a fantastic spot if the weather was fine. Would definitely stay at the White Hart again!

We stayed here with a Groupon deal which included a superior room, 3 course meal and breakfast and I feel this is a very good offer. I have stayed on many groupon deals before and this is definately one of the best.

We arrived at the hotel for about 4pm after spending some time in Henley nice little town for a stroll would probably be better when the is less rain (but the hotel definately cannot control the weather).
We felt the welcome recieved was friendly and helpful the gentleman even showed us to our room and offered to help with our bags.

The room (Olive 9) is part of a converted stables i believe was very large which would be nice if you were on a walking holiday. and the roll top bath was a lovely treat. The bedroom had a large bed, large flat screen TV plenty of windows and in the cupboard I even found and extra heater and iorn and iorning board. Some of the room was worn but the good seems to out weigh the old!

We had a drink in the bar on arrival and found the mix between new and old very nice and it was very clean. Its a shame it wasnt colder as they have open fire places.

At Dinner we were plesantly surprised on the options at dinner and realy enjoyed the South African Sausages and Steak's (with basting sauce) and personaly felt the service to be good not too fast but when we are on a break we dont like to be rushed.

We came down to breakfast quiet early so cant realy comment on the service as we were the only people in so our service was excellent. As this is more of a pub than hotel I felt the options for breakfast to be fine. The coffee was help yourself as was cold orange juice with a good size glass and there was a choice of fruit salad and cerial. This is all before they bring you a selection of toast they even had marmite (just ask) and a cooked option. No if you dont like something on the breakfast or want something else just ask they can only say no.

This was a Birthday weekend and I can definately say it was a treat. If in the area again I would definately book.

Quaint little country inn that has been tastefully extended. We were in Room 5 which is supposedly a superior room, IE there is a bath in the bedroom, which my partner loved. However the shower was more of a dribble than a deluge, and leaked on the floor. A lack of free WiFi was disappointing as other reviewers have said, and the TV was difficult to adjust to watch from the bed.
Our groupon booking included a three course evening meal. The staff were helpful and courteous, and most of the food food was of a high standard, although some dishes did not come with vegetables, which should have been explained. Unfortunately the dessert sharing plate was a little dissapointing, and the Sticky Toffee pudding appeared to have been over done in the microwave.

Noise from the road outside was not a problem, however the couple in the next room were. The hotel can't be held responsible for them having a screaming row, however the waiter and the chef also had a huge row in the kitchen on Sunday morning which could be heard throughout the dinning room. Very unprofessional.

Overall a very nugh there appears to be nowhere else to go in Nettlebed, so this pace would probably be best suited to someone wanting a very quiet hotel, or just passing through.

Room Tip: Choose a superior room, but if it is midweek stay away from the front of the building

We booked to stay here on a Saturday using a Groupon deal which included accommodation, three course dinner and breakfast.

The room was very nicely decorated and yes it was on the busy road, but being a Saturday night stay it really did not bother us. A gripe with the room was that there was no free wifi. You are lucky to get any phone signal here and certainly no data. When the website says wifi is free and then they ask you to pay, I think that is pretty poor. Whilst on the subject, the free wifi in the bar didn't work either.

The bathroom in the room was lovely, well decorated with a lovely looking rain shower. The issue here is that it looked much better than it was. Water pressure was poor and a real disappointment. Luckily I only have short hair as it would have been difficult to wash out the soap if you had long hair. Something for the hotel to look at.

The highlight of the stay was certainly the food. There was far more variety than I expected on a deal and the food was interesting and tasty. The South African influence brings delicious flavour and something a bit different. We both enjoyed all three courses, especially the ribs - they were amazing! My husband also liked the Boewors sausages too. There was an excellent choice of delicious South African wine, yum!

Breakfast in the morning was very good and again the food was excellent. A generous breakfast, with plenty of toast. There were cereals and juice which was just fine. When I stay away, I like someone to cook me breakfast so am uninterested in anything but the full English.

If you get this stay on a deal, it really is fantastic value for money. Am likely to return for the food and perhaps a stay in the summer when you can wander around the area. There is not a lot to do here in the winter, apart from eat and drink.

A rustic, chic super little find, got an online voucher deal and were really pleased. Stayed in the Caramel room in the outer building, huge room with massive bed, roll top bath, definitely four star. Warm welcome, modern and inviting room and restaurant, friendly yet luxurious - a real treat for one night and excellent value for money.

We stayed at The White Hart in early January 2014, after booking through Groupon. From the beginning of our trip we were made to feel very welcome by the management, and were given the opportunity to upgrade our room to the suite for a small fee. Location wise the village is very quiet, but it's a straight 5 mile drive down to Henley which is a lovely town.

The suite was fantastic - a large sitting room with big flat screen TV on the wall and built in wardrobes. Through into the bedroom there is a large roll top bath in the room, a very large bed, another large flat screen TV and lovely oak furniture throughout.

The bathroom contains a double width shower, great sink and the toilet is in a separate room too.

Everything was very clean, decorated very well and was in good working order. The only comment to make was that it could have been a little warmer. That's just personal preference.

Onto the inclusive 3 course dinner - it couldn't have been better! Fish of the day was roasted sea bass which my fiancee enjoyed, I had the steak which was cooked to perfection. Desert was a cheese board and chocolate torte - again very very good.

To top it off, the breakfast was great - a full english with fresh coffee and tea.

I would fully recommend booking The White Hart, you really won't be dissapointed. Full credit to the owners who are doing a great job. We'd go back with or without the Groupon deal!

Room Tip: If you can, upgrade to the suite! It's towards the back of the hotel so very quiet.

Me and my boyfreind stayed here for 2 nights with a groupon booking. The hotels decor is lovely and the food is great. Only negative is I feel they should have more options for breakfast. Furthermore the room was a tad cold, there was a lot of cob webs which should of been cleaned and very noisy due to traffic in the early morning.

Other than that we had a great stay and would recommend it!
