Having an hour to spare I nipped along to this course for an evening 9 holes. I put my money in the honesty box and teeed off. Luckily a couple of local members gave me some directions otherwise I might have had some difficulty in finding my way. However, I really enjoyed this quirky course and would have loved to have gone round again.

Well worth the long trip for a game of golf at Gairloch! Set in a stunning location overlooking Strath Bay, the course offers some real fun golf with a great collection of Par 3 holes especially.

The short Par 3 seventh hole and the long Par 5 eight hole easily stand out as the pick of the bunch. Enjoy the walk along the ocean's edge while playing in this part of the course.

Course kept in fantastic condition with warm and welcoming staff.

Very enjoyable morning of golf and well worth a visit.

If you're looking for some respite from the slog of trekking up hills then Gairloch's delightfully scenic 9 holer is well worth a few hours of your time. Sure the putting surfaces are a wee bit ropey but the course is otherwise in excellent condition and is a very clever design in such a relatively small plot of land. The par 5 8th/17th is a real cracker and there some testing par 3s. Sumptuous views abound and it was a real joy to play it on a beautifully sunny day. Special mention for the very friendly lady on duty collecting the green fees.

Played at Gairloch on saturday just past in their men's open. Weather was great, playing partners fantastic and managed to put in a good round as well. Coffee and bacon rolls to start the day off and a cold drink afterwards suited me down to the ground. Committee and volunteers running competition couldn't have been more friendly without being over the top. Course is set in a stunning location, kept in pretty good condition considering they only have one greenkeeper. Yes the greens could have been a wee bit better, along with some of the tee's, but when you are playing in sunshine looking out over the loch, you forget these minor things. I will be back, as I said it is heaven on earth.
