We were pleasantly surprised on arrival the Gairloch Lodge.
The staff met us with a smile and offered help with carrying luggage to our room. The triple room was spacious but rather dark.It had a good size en suite bathroom. The view was not great however it was a budget hotel and we thought good value for a bed and breakfast. Be aware there is no facility for an evening meal at the Gairloch Lodge which is a pity.We were however given a discount card for food at nearby sister hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

As a coach tour driver I stay in lots of hotels in the Scottish Highlands and Islands and this is a firm favourite of mine. No independent hotels in the country can compare to the level of comfort and service offered by the management and staff here. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable with all the usual facilities expected from modern hotels without being devoid of character. Eating at the hotel's own restaurant, The Old Inn, is a gastronomic treat with the most delicious meals prepared to perfection and deserves every award it has won, and it's won quite a few. Any time I see this hotel listed on my work programme I just know it's

This was well worth the long drive in torrential rain. We brought our westie with us so we were allocated an own entrance room at the extension on the hotel. We were taken to our room, luggage carried and heating switched on for us.

It was really lovely - cosy and welcoming. The room was a decent size and immaculately clean. Decoration was very nice, beautiful curtains and 2 large comfy chairs.

Beds were very comfortable - we slept like logs!!. Bathroom was large again very clean nice fluffy towels and warm.

They do not serve lunch or dinner in the hotel but you are given a discount voucher to use at their sister hotel 2 minute walk away. We had dinner there and it was again very nice.

Breakfast in the lodge was great, food excellent and very tasty. You could not ask for better and on top of it all you get magnificent views!!! looking out of huge floor to ceiling windows you can see right over to the islands on a clear day - stunning. Gardens are beautifully kept with seats dotted around so you can sit and look over the water...

We cant wait to go back.... its an ideal location and staff are so very friendly and helpful, there is a comfortable lounge the bar is an "Honesty Bar"and there are umbrellas to borrow if you are unlucky enough to get the worst side of our Scottish weather.

A very nice hotel and we will certainly go back.. Highly recommended,,,

As regular visitors to the hotel with a group of bikers. The Highland lodge gives us everything we need. Great rooms, bike cleaning/maintenance facilities and a crackin breakfast. The honesty bar makes for great entertainment in the evening. Great value too.

We had a twin room towards the back of the hotel so didn't get a nice view, try to ask for a front room. The decor is dated but the room was clean. The shower is large but has too small a shower head to give a good shower. The television was very small and only offered 3 channels one of which showed news for the London area. Plenty of tea and coffee on the hospitality tray and fresh milk is available you only need to ask. Breakfast was fine and the staff were very helpful. Gairloch has lots of visitors and hotel rooms are at a premium, so the hotel was busy but the guests quiet, which was a bonus. The hotel lacks atmosphere as it has no manned bar or evening dining but the Old Inn is not too far away. Contact the hotel directly for a cheaper rate. We were told we had paid a higher rate because we used booking.com. I tried the hotel website but it wasn't available so try phoning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gardens.

We got a pretty ugly room in an extension to the main building. Old premises, not very well maintained (old stuff is stored behind tissue panels in the main living areas). You don't get much of a sea view from this hotel. No restaurant.

Room Tip: Go to Ullapool instead.
