Description: The Pound at Leebotwood is a 15th century thatched country pub and restaurant, situated in the heart of rural picturesque Shropshire countryside and is run by Neil & Sarah McCann. Our menu offers dishes created from fresh local ingredients, we use local and artisan suppliers, within a 30 mile radius where possible. Neil changes the menus in tune with the seasons, so there will always be something new on the menu. We offer a classic Sunday lunch menu every week, always serving three roasts along with elements of our menu to suit all tastes and appetites.

My partner booked this as a special treat for Valentine. It was more like an endurance test. After 50 minutes of contemplating the dull decor, and listening to the drab muzak, no-one had even bothered to take our order. When we finally asked a waitress how long it would be, the manageress came over and apologised for having "forgotten" us. I was not happy, and voiced my dissatisfaction. We were offered 2 glasses of wine and 2 desserts on the house as recompense. The food was tasty when it eventually came, but as far as I was concerned, the shoddy service spoilt the evening.

Let down by the less than amazing service. The Pound is often really empty, which is a shame as the food is truly fantastic. We have eaten here quite a few times this year and never found fault with any of the food. It's outstanding, service just needs some tweaking sadly. bit more jolly, glad to see you maybe. Feeling values is also good.

Revisited the Pound, based on recent Tripadvisor reviews, and the food WAS very good. The chef obviously knows what he's doing and the tastes, textures and presentation were all impressive...save, perhaps, for trying to be twee by placing a huge burger onto a too small wooden platter, leaving no room for discards or for the onions.

Our main complaints have nothing to do with the food. We didn't mind the long wait for it spoke of fresh preparation, but it does seem strange not to be offered any sort of knapkin (paper or linen) and, with sausages and burgers on order, no mustards or condiments. Petty niggles perhaps but they let down the overall dining experience and did nothing to add to the very good food.

Good beer, ample parking, comfortable seating, an almost empty restaurant , muted piped music and very tasty food...but let down by quirky service.

Went to the Pound for our anniversary, John Williams the Chef created a bit of heaven. We were so impressed with the food we sadly took photo's to enjoy again. Never had a poor meal or service I can only recommend The Pound as a place to go for a lovely meal and friendly atmosphere
