Its an interesting road to the b & g but its well worth it, many years ago I read a book "Marketing the meal experience" which says the food is only part of the overall experience and at the B&G this is true. A nice welcome on arrival, roaring log fire and a really good menu. Well done to the owners and his staff who really know how to make your visit really memorable. I encourage people to visit this hostelry its great! The meal was excellent.

This used to be a gourmet dining experience four-plus years ago. The landlady who took over in 2010/1 ran it into the ground and now it has been reopened with new owners. The setting is still pleasant but the lovely old library has been ripped out and replaced with a TV which is hardly appropriate to the clientele.
We went for lunch yesterday and it was 8.5C outside and just as cold inside but no fires were lit. The fires used to burn 365 days and these were part of the atmosphere and necessary in such an old building. The welcome was also cool but what about the food. The menu is very unimaginative but this is lunch; it may be better in the evening for dinner. The food was quite good - pastry on the pies was crisp (a good bake by Paul Holllywood standards) but the fillings quite dry. Only one beef-style grave was provided for steak pie and chicken and ham, which didn't go at all. The kitchen was kind enough to make a late change to one of the orders.
So, it isn't bad but this place used to vie with localand even London restaurants for the quality of
its food but now it is merely ordinary. So why would people drive miles down narrow twisty lanes when there is better to be had in Dorrington on the main road.
This used to be a favourite with us, our friends and visitors but we're crossing it off the list. Such a shame because it is a perfect setting for ca gourmet country pub and used to be one.

We went here on Saturday evening with our friends who live up the road. There was a bit of confusion re our booking but this was very quickly sorted with minimum fuss. The menu offered a varied selection and the food arrived in good time and was very tasty. The staff were polite and attentive and the atmosphere was exactly as you would expect for a quality English pub. The food wasn't cheap but I think the price was fair, considering the quality of the food. Our friends say that they usually eat in the bar as dogs are welcome there but we sat in library and our table was lovely. I was impressed and would certainly return.

Our room was spacious, comfortable with excellent amenities. Our host and his staff were friendly, welcoming and made us feel really valued. The catering was first class and the quiet country setting is to die for. We can not recommend the Bottle and Glass higher and urge everyone to go and see for themselves.

Thanks for a delicious meal - the battered cod and the salmon in hollandaise were lovely! Thank you, we all enjoyed it! And thanks to the friendly personable owner especially. I have visited with family who live locally a few times and this is by far the best experience yet. Thanks for a lovely evening.

This pub is located in a very secluded rural village but is well worth the journey. I visited with a party of 9. We received a warm welcome from the waitress and the owner before being seated in a lovely private dining room.

The menu comprised various pub classics, all of which were prepared very nicely. The prices were also very reasonable.

Overall this pub has a great rustic charm and is well worth a visit for anyone seeking good homecooked food.
