“Hits the spot”
Reviewed 22 August 2012 for a stay in August 2012

To say that our holiday at the Larches was a fabulous experience would be an understatement.

We knew from previous Trip Advisor reviews that this cabin on a hillside was something special but you have to go there to experience the sense of tranquillity and well-being that its location exudes. Many sunsets were viewed while sipping wine on the balcony, idle conversations lapsing into silence as darkness descended and the beauty of the Long Mynd, on the other side of the valley, disappeared.

Sara has put a great deal of thought into the décor and contents of her guest’s cabin and after a few days we really felt that it was our home. The feeling of pleasure experienced when we first walked through the door remained for the entire holiday, to the point that neither of us wanted to leave: fortunately, there were four days available at the end of our fortnight’s booking so we happily extended our stay.

Sara and her family went on their own holiday while we were there so her lovely parents-in-law took over as our hosts and did an equally-fine job of looking after us – thanks, Don and Margaret! The family home is adjacent to the cabin but we had our own path to the car bay and another for walking into town so a week would pass between catching sight of anyone.

To our surprise, we spent quite a few days in and around Church Stretton itself; the town’s excellent rail link also providing an excuse to leave the car behind. There is so much to experience in this fascinating border region that we’d need at least another fortnight to do it justice but one afternoon we drove to Snowdonia on a whim.

The Larches comes with our enthusiastic recommendation for any length of stay – treat yourself!

“Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 30 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

A fantastic retreat. The cabin was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and offered everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The private balcony was a great space to chill out and look at the views of the town and the mood lighting gave it a nice ambience. Lovely gardens to wander around and a short walk to the town where there were bars and restaraunts to suit most tastes including a very good chinese take away (Ruby). Sara and her family made us feel very welcome and its somewhere that we will definetly be returning to. Loved the location, atmosphere, cabin and the occasional visit from the two house cats. If you like birds and wildlife theres plenty to see and lots of great places to visit around the area. Overall an excellant weekend away.

“A Wonderfully Cozy Base for Exploring Shropshire”
Reviewed 25 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We had a lovely, relaxing time staying at Sara's chalet while visiting Shropshire. The chalet provides modern amenities and is very comfortably furnished. It's located on the same property as the main house, but has its own parking, access and a lovely view of the trees so it feels very private and cozy. Sara was delightful to work with - all communication with her went smoothly and she ensured that the cabin was well-prepared with everything we needed when we arrived.

“A 5* Cabin in tranquil Church Stretton - Shropshire”
Reviewed 16 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This cabin is set in the picturesque town of Church Stretton within walking distance of both train and bus transport links. The place is easy to find and also has off road parking for extra peace of mind.
Initial reactions when arrived at the cabin were apprehensive as the cabin is set within close proximity of the owners property, but this concern soon diminished after actually meeting the owners and them appreciating the privacy of the cabins tenants.
The cabins layout is open plan with an adequate toilet/ shower room and has excellant quality cooking facilities (including cutlery, pots, pans, toaster, oven, hob, fridge-freezer and even a mircowave).
The cabin as a whole is the best I have stayed in with great facilities and a very hospitable and welcoming family (the owners) next door. I will certianly be returning to the property and would advise anyone who wants premium quality self catering accomodation in Shropshire to use this place as their hub.
The only downfall to this place is the weather being so tempremental but the accomodation will certianly shed those holiday blues.
