“Just perfect!”

We spent a week in the Larches and everything about it was just perfect! To start, the location is great: from Church Stretton (which is a nice small town itself) a lot of nice places are within reach. The cabin itself was equipped with everything you need for your stay. Very important, everything was really, really clean and not a spot of dirt was seen during our stay! The bed is huge and just like one you find in a hotel. The heating works fine and the cabin was nice and warm. From the cabin it’s only a 10 minute walk (or less) to the town and to the supermarket. The weather was a little English when we visited, but on a sunny day you can sit outside on the porch and enjoy the views! WiFi worked very well. The owner Sara was on a vacation herself with her family but her parents-in-law were there to welcome us and they were very nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to everyone: you will not be disappointed!

“This is the most fantastic place to stay”

This is the most fantastic place to stay. I have been here three times now and the chalet is tremendously comfortable and equipped with state of the art facilities. It serves as a base for activities and for relaxation. Regular trains operate quick services to both Ludlow and Shrewsbury in terms of restaurants, and Church Stretton itself, in the form of the Jaipur, has the best Indian restaurant I have ever been in.

The chalet is situated in extensive grounds overlooked by the Shropshire Hills and boasting it's own dingle. The owners are a delightful family and the whole experience has been in each case extraordinarily good

“Just back from second visit and already planning the third - The Larches is perfect.”

This is the second time I've stayed at The Larches and provisional dates for the third visit are in the diary. The cabin is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and as my stay was an extended one, that was important. I happily spent entire days inside but the location is so good that choices are easy: minutes from the centre of town, or the station (e.g. 20 minutes to Ludlow) or walking country. Sara, Mark (and their lovely family) are the best hosts and went out of their way to accommodate particular idiosyncratic requests. I miss The Larches already and look forward to going back before too long.

“Had a wonderful stay: great location for walking, relaxing, and exploring”

We visited from London for a week of walking, resting, eating, and exploring the area. The accommodation was perfect - comfortable, clean, and everything you need to cater for yourselves, including some outside space for dinner on warm evenings. The weather during our stay was perfect and we enjoyed days of excellent walking in the hills. The owners of the property are especially kind and hospitable - they made us feel incredibly welcome and we enjoyed several chats with the children who were delightful. Sara provided lots of information on how to find the property and there was a lot of information when we arrived to help us plan our days. We also got a welcome bottle of wine! Shame to come home, even though we went for a whole week!

“Perfect holiday retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We have just returned from a relaxing four night break at The Larches where we were warmly greeted on arrival by Sara who showed us to the chalet and explained how everything worked.

The chalet was very clean and comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed. It is located in an elevated position with great views of the Long Mynd and Church Stretton, which is only a ten minute walk away and it was so cosy to return to after a days walking in the hills.

We hope to return to The Larches soon for another break.

“Perfect, Relaxing stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

After a 2-3 hour journey, we received a warm welcome from Sara... Everything was thoroughly explained to us and any questions, answered.
The Log cabin was lovely inside and outside, and perfectly situated, although it is within Sara's garden, you are still completely private. We spent our first afternoon, looking around Church Stretton itself-Which is lovely! The Larches is perfect walking distance to Church Stretton, and also 10 mins to the train station, where you can easily jump on a train to Ludlow, a dainty little market town, full of cute gift shops and history.
Our 3 day break was to relax, and part of our honey moon- we had a great time and would definitely return... If you want somewhere, where you can stay in and relax or go out to the pubs, this is the perfect place, it has everything you need.

The green & ginger cafe in Church Stretton is a must, along with Japuir Indian restaurant.

“Perfect getaway and Birthday present”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

I booked 3 nights at The Larches mid January for my boyfriends 25th Birthday. We are a young couple who enjoy travelling and live in a city center and this provided us with the prefect little getaway.
Sara met us on our arrival, she explained everything we needed to know and made us feel extremely welcome. The cabin was so beautiful and had everything we could have asked for and much more. We had planned to go out most nights for dinner but we ended up cooking in the cabin with a bottle of wine instead as we loved it so much. It was warm despite the cold weather and we even had the option of sitting outside under a heater to take advantage of the view.

My parents live close by and despite growing up in this area Sara informed us about plenty of things we could see and do which I hadn't done before. We enjoyed exploring the hill walks and pubs close by.

The only negative part was the fact we couldn't stay longer due to work commitments. We hope to return in the near future and enjoy some summer nights out on the balcony. This is great value for money and would recommend it to anyone looking for a walking or relaxing holiday.
