“A wonderfully relaxing break”
Reviewed 9 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Maureen was very helpful when we arrived, showing us where everything was and making us feel very welcome. We had our dog, Chip, with us, a very adventurous Norfolk Terrier, and both she and her husband made a fuss of him and were very tolerant of him being rather noisy at times! The cake on arrival and parting gift of a jar of marmalade was a very nice touch.

The property was ideal for the two of us, and the view or the town and the Long Mynd from the outside terrace or inside sitting in front of the large window was superb. The garden was perfect for a small dog!

The let was about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town, and the Carding Mill Valley is within easy walking distance of the town. Church Stretton itself is a lovely place - we were there for three days and enjoyed two excellent meals (one Indian and one Thai), found a pub with a garden we could sit in with Chip, and made a couple of visits to van Doesburg's, the excellent delicatessan in the centre of the town. The surrounding countryside is great both to look at and walk in - we spent a morning walking high up above the town on the Long Mynd, and a day walking on the Stiperstones.

A wonderful time, beautiful weather and a great place to stay - we'll be back next time the kids go off on another trip with the Guides!

“Lovely View but Property Tired”
Reviewed 14 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed for three nights. The property is tucked away up a steep road so if walking the 10 minutes in to town be prepared for a short steep uphill end to the return trip.
Maureen has put a lot of care into setting this let up and given nice touches like welcome cake and tea plus marmalade to take home. However the flat is tired in both decor and equipment. The mattresses on the beds are thin and we both ended up with backache. A deep clean is needed especially the grubby tumble twist mats in the bathroom.
The garden is also looking shabby with some poorly maintained concrete steps in places.
There is no washing machine or dishwasher.

“Everything you could need for a wonderful holiday”
Reviewed 20 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Redwood Heights. Maureen and Porky were lovely and the accomodation was spacious and all facilities you could need. Wifi was good, heating was very controlable and a nice power shower and bath. Views were stunning. The location was quiet, yet sufficiently close to shops or local walks that we didn't use the car too much. We will look forward to returning soon.

“The best view in Church Stretton?”
Reviewed 12 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Redwood Heights occupies an elevated position with extensive views over Church Stretton to the hills beyond. The location is excellent for those who wish to explore the many gems in Shropshire. Church Stretton itself is an attractive little town with a supermarket, restaurants, an ancient church and a busy railway station. The accommodation is located above the large garage shown in the picture. It is accessed via the rear of the main house and up wooden steps onto a large sun terrace facing west towards the Shropshire hills - perfect for a sundowner tipple at the end of the day. The living room is spacious and a huge picture window offers the same wonderful view of the Shropshire hills referred to earlier. Two supremely comfortable leather armchairs face this window, and if the weather keeps you indoors, you can still enjoy that view in total comfort!
The low eves in the kitchen and bathroom may give 6' tall people a few headaches but I would say this is a small price to pay for the advantages of this accommodation. Peter and Maureen are most charming and welcoming hosts.
