Ok it was a warm and clear June day when I visited and having walked up the valley off of the Bur Way to the trig point at the top, I then meandered down Ashes Hollow beside a trickling stream. I guess in July August the heather will be out brightening the area. At the trig point the re were views all around and especially clear towards Wales. I enjoyed the varied walking and Bird and Flora. Be sure to take a back pack, map and wear good footwear. There are many ways to ascend and descend so the map is essential. Parking in Church Stretton long stay car park is £3.60 all day.

AONB - it does what it says on the tin.! Superb walking, waymarks a plenty, beautiful all round views. Some steep ascents/descents so get advice before tackling the paths, some could be tricky in the mist and rain. Britain's best kept secret.

We visited the Long Mynd recently and oh my god what a love place to just walk with nothing around you except rolling fields, the is also a Gliding club up there which we sat and watched for sometime which again was a great experience, take a few sandwiches and a flask and you will see what I mean, this really is a must.
