Description: Withypool Tea rooms are to found in the centre of this picturesque Village, opposite the local olde worlde Shop and yards from the stone Bridge that spans the River Barle. They are ideally situated, in the heart of Exmoor, as a base or destination for any countryside pursuits that this wonderful area of the Moor has to offer. The Tea Room has been recently renovated in the Winter of 2014, creating a whole new experience. There is a much larger eating area by moving the kitchen into the adjoining building and creating a 5 star food and hygiene premises. We still have the traditionally Victorian pine furniture surrounded by antiques. the Tearooms offer a good choice of Home Made Cakes, freshly filled baguettes, Local pasties and sausages rolls, daily specials for example chillies, lasagnas, quiches etc and other light refreshments and Of course 'the traditional Cream Tea'. Withypool is a truly pretty place and nothing could be nicer than enjoying the peace and tranquillity with a cup of our finest and a slice of cake! Please come along as seen for your self our new improved Tea Room.

“Second time this week!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

Sat in the sunshine earlier this week and enjoyed superb value for money lunch with friends together with bottles of local cider and delicious cappuccinos. Couldn't resist visiting again today to have pasties, rounded off with the most incredible scones, cream and whortleberry jam, oh, and a bottle of Vina Sol! Each time the staff have been very friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is of very good quality and the premises are well furnished and exceptionally clean. I would not hesitate to recommend these tea rooms and will definitely be returning very soon.

“Wonderful, idyllic day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

What a wonderful day, the staff were friendly & welcoming; nothing was too much to ask.
Three baguettes and two lattes with very tasty fillings, beautifully presented followed up with the creamiest ice cream all for just over £20 - so cheap!
The setting was idyllic with a lovely peaceful aura of bygone days, but offering 21st century facilities: good selection of coffee & tea, wifi, very clean conveniences and the interior of the cafe had a fresh airy feel that looked as if it could be cosy in the winter as well.
Most definitely go back again

“pretty good”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Was going to go to the pub, but then once we saw this was licenced and having 3 dogs, and it was a gorgeous day so we could sit outside, we thought we would give it a try. Given dog biscuits for the dogs which was a nice touch. Would have rather sat round the back off the roadside, but there were no sunshades from the hot sun on the few tables round there. Food was nice, freshly made, and enjoyable. Drinks likewise, and nice to see local ciders and beers. Seem to do well and was getting busier as we left. A good alternative to a pub, and not bad value if you are on your holidays and want an easy snack. My jacket spud and cheese was tasty, hubbys ham baguette - the bread was delicious - but could have been better ham. Nice salad though as accompaniment. So all in all, yes worth a visit. Especially if you have dogs, as very welcoming to them.

“Nice but rather expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

very nice little place, however over £20 for 3 ham baguettes, 2 lattes and a carton of Ribena seemed rather expensive to me, also the wait for it to arrive was long. Lovely that dogs are welcome. Not somewhere I would pop into again though
