We have stayed there before and as usual the hospitality was brilliant the tasting menu was a delight we opted for the accompanying wine, this was really well thought out and accompanied the meal.We were unfortunate to have a power cut just as they were preparing the meal (I was still in the shower) suitable lights were brought to our assistance.
But the staff took this in their stride and copped and with this problem superbly the electricity was restored just as we were finishing our meal and all the diners were given a complimentary glass of bubbly (I think the staff should have had this for the way they coped).
And the breakfast was a joy to behold and a constant reminder of a good night out.

Stayed here for Valentine's and had five course taster menu and scrummy champagne cream tea. Was all delicious. Lovely, relaxing atmosphere as usual. Met some lovely people also staying there. Have been coming here for years and never disappointed. Stayed in our favorite four poster room. Would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed for two nights, had a wonderful time. Room was superb, the hotel was spotlessly clean and food excellent. We had a very relaxing time and having stayed in many hotels, this rates as one of the best we have stayed in.
Sarah made us very welcome and feel very comfortable.
We enjoyed the spaciousness of our room which had plenty of space to unwind.
We look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Book the 'Selworthy,' romantic, spacious, good view and plenty of relaxation space.

A wonderful small hotel. Owners were very friendly and we will definately return. Recommend walking to Culbone church quite steep but beautiful views out to sea and well sign posted. Breakfast was superb and just enough choice. Freshly prepared and serve nicely.

Room Tip: Cant remember name of room but it was the only one with whirlpool bath and amazing views. Room was v...

Met up with friends - just for a night's break. The service and food was exceptional. It's not a pretty guesthouse .... and it was a little bit chilly, but the service and the food more than made up for it. The rooms overlook a car park with the sea behind. Porlock Weir is a really interesting little village - with a pub, another hotel, some shops, the boats, Turkey Island and the pebbly beach. Would definitely go back. (Didn't find the booking that friendly, but again no complaints once we were there - in fact they bent over backwards to make sure that we had all we wanted.)

Room Tip: The room with the four-poster looked lovely!

We were warmly greeted and shown to our room which was amazing, truly romantic with a four poster bed and would you believe a three piece suite, lovely bay windows which overlooked the sea - heaven. We had a Jacuzzi which relaxed me fully ready for our five course taster menu in their restaurant later. The meal what can I say absolutely fantastic, would I go there again you bet. Thank you for a truly unforgettable experience to celebrate my 60th birthday.

Room Tip: Stayed in selworthy room, if you want romance this is the room for you.

This small hotel is excellent and we loved the location at Porlock Weir; the outlook is beautiful but it is quiet with little traffic. The seafood tasting menu is exceptional. The staff are charming and efficient. Lovely room with wonderful views.
