If you removed the cars and people Lacock village would look much like it did two to three hundred years ago. Lovely picture postcard English village.

We also did the Abbey and while the monastic home is very interesting and beautiful to look at the interiors were a bit of a let down for me. There is not a huge amount to see. The NT could easily spruce up the dining room to present it more as it may have been used for an event. Just for us tourists!! The furnishing were sparce but I have to say the home portion of the abbey was very original. But for the $9.50 entrance fee per person I thought it was a bit steep. The gardens are not that great, even the so called flower garden was not very well kept. Could not in good conscience give the Abbey five stars.

Lots of friendly people and guides at the Abbey to answer questions and show you around. I would recommend this visit to include the village itself. Very nice.

Lovely grounds, with a small rose garden and orchard. Good for a gentle walk before going in to the abbey itself. Knowledgable guides tell you the history of the abbey. The older parts are more interesting than the newer, family parts but all worth a look. Filming crews make the atmosphere less attractive but are essential to provide extra cash for the NT.

Steeped in history, the abbey has a chequered past. Most of the upstairs rooms concentrate on the recent past private family and its hard to distinguish between the different periods of history in front of you. Nice grounds too.

Great place to visit free parking if you are a National Trust Member walking distance to the Abbey, Museum and Village which are owned by The National Trust.
Really interesting we easily spent several hours there lots of pubs & cafe’s.

Well, at least this time they weren't filming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" - which restricted access quite a bit last year. Lovely site - well worth a visit - but could do with a bigger tearoom, which was not adequate for the large numbers that this place attracts. In addition, you have the Fox Talbot Museum AND the village itself - but that gets very busy as well. Parking is outside the village and a walk from the car park (be warned!) - but I made it, and I'm physically disabled. The Abbey itself is beautiful and set in nice grounds - and has a small second hand bookshop down by Tearoom, which is worth a visit.
