“Books and buns - what's not to like?”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

I do love a book and a brew - so finding a tearoom that combines the two is a match made in heaven. Clean, bright and a lovely menu - thoroughly enjoyed!

“Lovely decor and service.”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Surprised to read some of the other reviews. I have always felt welcome as a mother of small children and the service has always been wonderful. Food is nothing special but the overall experience is great and lots of nice touches such as stylish crockery and fleece blankets outside. Really lovely loo too!

“Absolutely wonderful”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

I can't praise Beatons enough and would give more stars if I could. The setting and decor are beautiful and the high tea was exquisite, so much care and thought had gone into it. We were lucky enough to have a voucher for this, with a bottle of Prosecco, which we had forgotten about as we were driving and could not drink it then. The lovely lady serving us ran up the road after us with it in the pouring rain! Don't miss this wonderful place.

“Excellent modern British tearoom”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

Tucked away in what seems like the middle of nowhere (but near to Old Wardour Castle). We had an excellent rarebit on homemade bread, tasty tomato and basil soup, freshly made sandwiches and a homemade quiche, all of which were great. The milkshakes were particularly good - miles away from the sugar-colour-and-flavouring stuff you usually get.

As other reviewers have noted, the portions aren't huge, but they were advertised as light lunches, and are priced accordingly. It also means you have room left for their delicious range of cakes.

Only caution is for die-hard republicans: the walls are adorned with what I think were local photographer Cecil Beaton's portraits of HM The Queen and her immediate family from the 50s.
