Visited here on a beautiful sunny day and absolutely loved it. The castle is well preserved enough on one side that you can go in around the inside and climb the staircases to higher floors but damaged by an explosion so it's one half in ruins. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept with a lovely pond to look out over and a cool little grotto in the grounds to go hide in! Would recommend highly.

Really enjoyed our visit. More to explore than you first imagine, and the castle is in remarkable condition considering it's history. We visited when it was reasonably busy, but it certainly didn't feel crowded or rushed. There is an air of tranquility and calm about the place..and will visit again in other seasons. Location is accessible along some single track roads...but well worth it and there are plenty of passing places. The countryside surrounding the castle is quite beautiful...lots of walking opportunities.

The Old Wardour Castle is a little bit tricky to find but its worth trying. The landscape is very peaceful and romantic. We went on November so it wasn't the busy holiday season.
It was raining at first but the sky opened up and the colours of the autumn trees was a breath taken.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon here walking round the castle. Although some of it is in ruin it was great to be able to climb almost to the top of other parts. Very friendly man in the shop too. We will definitely be back again.

Nice castle to explore in English Countryside. Bit of a nightmare road to get there as not used to such narrow roads but once there it s a lovely tranquil place. Helpful staff and nice ruins.
