It turned out to be a blessing that all accommodation in Fort William was full. The Isles of Glencoe was a welcome find which we would use again. Price compared well with others in the vicinity - we had a double room with two extra bunk beds, overlooking the loch, for £109.
It is, as other reviews record, not state of the art in decor, but the rooms are clean and more than adequately equipped and maintained. The hotel is used by coach tour operators, so judge your restaurant visit by the dinner schedule of big parties. The menu is good but not exciting (coach party fare) but the steak and ale pie is very good and a very big helping - better value than some of the over-priced items such as steaks. What makes the hotel is the location. It is on the shore of the loch, with seating providing a drinking area affording a fine display of isles and skies at sunset. This made our pre-dinner drink a memorable treat. We found staff attentive and efficient, though there were signs that they were occasionally hard put to manage the volume of business.More
