“One to remember”

We have just enjoyed a great week at West Cottage. A warm welcome from Sue, and a well stocked and presented cottage. We have stayed at a lot of cottages over the years and have learnt to trust the tourist board grading's, but this was one of the best. Close to Kelso and other border's attractions. We had the dog with us and this presented no issues, Sue even pointed out some walks around the farm estate for us. Good pubs nearby, including Cobbles in Kelso, and some good meals from the shop at Floors Castle. We have already made a provisional booking for next Summer.

Room Tip: Check with Sue if taking a pooch, not all the properties allow dogs

We have been to the cottage four times now and will probably make it five. The cottage has a new kitchen fitted and the bathroom has been upgraded. The improvements weren't needed but they have been done to a high standard. The Cottage is very homely and peaceful. There are wonderful walks in the area and Kelso and the surrounding small towns are lovely. To top all of this Sue, the owner is lovely, always has a smile and time for a chat. I would recommend any of the Cottages

We really enjoyed our two weeks holiday at West Cottage. The accommodation had everything we needed. The kitchen was very well equipped and the lounge was exceptionally comfortable. The bedrooms were very spacious and we slept very well. The cottages are situated in the most beautiful surroundings with views to die for. The only noise we heard was from the birds singing in the trees. The garden was just perfect and very well maintained with seating and a barbecue. This is the third time we have visited Kelso and we are sure that we will return to Hendersyde. Thank you Sue, especially for the warm welcome and home made rock buns!!

We were so fortunate to discover this charming house. It is the most well appointed, equipped and special house we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. We were greeted by Sue with tea and scones and the fridge had butter, eggs, milk to name but a few. The fruit bowl was stacked with lovely fresh fruit and the wine was also appreciated. The larder was also equipped with cereal, rice, pasta and flour. The supply of tea and coffee lasted all week. We lacked nothing.
We saw deer in the field and hares and the silence was inspiring. The kitchen left me awestruck and it was wonderful to have it so well planned where the whole family could be in one space. One cooking, one on the internet on the central island and the other watching t.v. on the sofa.

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend a few days at Hendersyde during our honeymoon tour of Scotland. Our stay at the West Cottage was romantic, idyllic, charming, comfortable, and 100% unforgettable. From the time Sue greeted us at the top of the lane, we felt entirely at home. Sue went out of her way to make our stay memorable; she put a bottle of champagne in the fridge, left fresh-baked shortbread in the kitchen, and even sprinkled rose petals on the bed! Her attention to detail clearly extended to the care and decoration of the cottage. My husband and I couldn't help but wish it was our full-time home! The views from the cottage were stunning. It was a pleasure to take a stroll along the river and pop-in to the Hendersyde farm to spy on the cows. The location was perfectly situated to give us easy access to Kelso, the abbeys, and we even took a day trip down to Northumberland. All around, Hendersyde is heaven on earth. We hope to share this magical place with all our friends and family one day soon!

As someone well travelled- Hard to beat this experience anywhere in the world!
We stayed at Millsyde but also booked one of the small cottages for our party of 8.
My husbands 60 birthday celebration could not have been better- beautiful farm location, close to amenities of Kelso, something for all the family with an age range of 4- 60.
Immaculate Millsyde with every luxury from home- cosy, underfloor heating, beautiful kitchen, fully equipped with beautiful crockery and glassware, dishwasher, washing machine and drier, spacious rooms, beautiful linen and luxury beds, with so many personal touches from Sue, the owner. Board games, large screen TV, set tea table on arrival with warm rock cakes, home made bread and fresh farm eggs, fresh flowers and even a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my husbands birthday.
My expectations were high as I had researched the venue and they were surpassed!
We sampled fishing with eoin and cly shooting with Alastair at the Roxburghe hotel- a real experience enjoyed by the whole family. Pony trekking at Bowhills stables, individually hand led, as we were beginners. A fantastic meal, also catering for children at the Cobbles with scallops and fresh spring lamb.
The whole experience made the birthday celebration an experience for the whole family to remember for many years to come.
Thanks to all those who provided an experience that would be hard to better anywhere in the world! Special thanks to Sue at Henderson farm for making it so special. My grandson hasnt stopped talking about feeding the lambs since he got home.

We have stayed at Hendersyde many times. Our latest stay, now at Millsyde, tops the list. Millsyde is in a league of its own: "home-from-Home accomodation" that can be positioned in the one-of-a-kind category. Clean & well-proportioned rooms, superb hospitality, a dream of Kitchen. It all comes highly recommended. We will undoubtedly be back.
