Came here for a meal with my family. Having been here many times before as I come from Kelso. When I went to book the table, I understood they were going to be busy, the gentleman on reception was quite abrupt when we told him what time we would like to eat at, he then went on and told us that the service would be slow because of how busy they were, which is understandable but you shouldn't really tell people that. Arriving for our meal we were seated in the lounge area where we were handed menu's, then taken through to the restaurant where it went downhill. Our starters came out, I had the brie which was very tasty others had soup, was never asked if everything was okay. The main courses came out, instead of the young girl saying excuse me for me to move so she could put my plate down she started talking to the other waitress, had the turkey and all the trimmings, I didn't think much of this, the turkey was seriously dry, others had beef which was said to have been good, 2 of the staff came to clear our table, the older lady asked if we would like desserts we said yes and the young girls muttered something under her breath as if she didn't want us to which is highly un-professional. Continued onto pudding I had creamed rice pudding and poached pear, I must admit the pear was delicious but the rice pudding was not very creamy. After desserts was the first time we were asked if everything was okay, after each course the guest should of been asked. Coming from a hotel and restaurant background I understand when it's busy sometimes you get stressed out but a guest should never be made to feel as though they are not wanted there!
