“First class in every way.”
Reviewed 5 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Beautiful house in an idyllic location ideal for families and larger groups. Very well equipped and very comfortable. The house was furnished to an exceptional standard and we wanted for nothing whilst we were there. Added to this, the owners's, Arthur and Susan were exceptionally nice and friendly, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasurable. Our stay was because of a family bereavement, and we wanted to get away over Christmas, and Arthur and Susan were aware of this, and helped us through a very sad time.. I cannot speak highly enough of the property, nor the owners, and we will definately be returning again.

“Lovely house, very helpful owners”
Reviewed 3 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We recently stayed at Stichill Mains 29th Nov - 1st Dec 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed the house and locality. In total, there were 4 couples, 3 kids and a dog - the home was very spacious with a sociable layout. It was a late booking and Susan couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating - did us a great deal and made us feel very welcome from start to finish. The house itself was spotless and had everything you would need (cooking utensils in particular) for a weekend. The kitchen/dining area was fantastic for such a big group. Would certainly recommend and will definitely book again.

“beautiful property with fabulous views”
Reviewed 22 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

stayed at Stitchill Mains for my 53rd birthday from 18th to 20th Oct, my friend had already stayed in June for her 70th birthday. Accomodation is faultless and very comfortable. The furnishing, bedding etc is to a very high standard. Utensils, cooking dishes, cutlery etc is in abundance. Kelso race course is just down the road and Kelso town has some lovely pubs to eat in, we ate at the Waggon Inn, fish and chips to die for. Been raving about Stitchil Mains at work and already work mates are going wow that looks fab and are making enquiries. Thank you to Susan and Arthur and hoping to see you again next year

“Amazing House in a gorgeous place! :)”
Reviewed 3 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

A group of 7 of us stayed at the house in August this year when attending a wedding nearby. We had plenty of room and found the house to be absolutely lovely with beautifully decorated rooms and everything you need. The house literally has everything! :)

We had a fantastic weekend and was the perfect place to stay with friends. The wedding we attended was in Kelso which is also a lovely place to visit, we were only disappointed we could not stay longer than the weekend. Susan and Arthur the owners, are wonderful and so friendly and helpful too.

I will definately reccommend to others and hope to go back at some point.

Myself , husband, 3 children, their partners & 2 year old grandson stayed at stichill mains for 3 nights, wish we'd stayed for a week. What a beautiful place, the kitchen is huge & absolutely wonderful, has everything you could possibly need & I've never seen such a variety of plates & utensils, never been so happy to spend so much time in a kitchen,we ate, drank, talked, played games etc in there, then out to patio for the sunshine & BBQ. The bedrooms are absolutely gorgeous& such comfortable beds. Everything about stichill mains is peperfect. My grandson loved the freedom to run around this lovely home & particularly liked playing hide & boo between floor levelled window of lounge looking into kitchen, sorry Sue for his fingerprint allover the glass! I loved sitting on the landing early morning looking at the stunning views. Kelso is very close by with plenty to see & do. Thank you Sue for letting us stay in your beautiful home, sincerely hope to return.

“Absolutely stunning property.....the photos really do not do it justice!!!”
Reviewed 22 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

I stayed at Stichill Mains last weekend with my partner and 5 other friends to attend our friends wedding in Kelso. I knew that when I returned I had to write a review to let people know how fantastic our stay was.
The owners Arthur and Susan were so friendly, even during the months before we arrived. Telephone calls and emails said to contact them if we needed anything at all and nothing seemed too much trouble. Upon arrival we were given such a warm welcome and really made to feel at home.
The accommodation is just stunning! We spent the majority of our time in the kitchen as it is huge (the dream kitchen) and is the perfect place to socialise. The kitchen has every utensil, dish, piece of crockery etc you could possibly imagine (even dishwasher tabs, kitchen roll, tea&coffee etc). We used the BBQ on our first night which was great....despite the rain! All of the bedrooms were beautiful.....you'd be happy whichever one you stayed in. My partner and I had one of the suites upstairs which felt so luxurious and the views from the main window were spectacular.
We only wish we could have stayed for longer and enjoyed the property more and got to explore Kelso more (sadly some of us had to be back for work!)
The pictures on the website really do not do it justice...it's a gorgeous property, fantastic value for money and I would highly recommend to others and love to go back and stay again.
Thank you so much for your hospitality Arthur and Susan! We look forward to returning in the future.
