“Still the best BB I have stopped in”

My wife and I were undertaking the Coast and Castle bike ride and I booked the Old Priory after I staying there 2 years ago with work colleagues doing the same journey. What can I say - the welcome is always warm and the double room we stayed in is an absolute delight. I telephone Robin (the owner) to inform him we were running late and he even booked us a table at a local restaurant - what first class service.
The breakfast the next morning was very nice indeed. Therefore the best recommendation I can give is that I put my money where my mouth is and went back to this gem in the middle of Kelso.

The Old Priory is a beautiful old house in the towncenter, within easy walking distance to the Abbey, shops and restaurants. For people staying longer, there is big walled garden with a cosy feeling. A friendly welcome awaits you at the door and the host is only too happy to give you all the useful information you might need (especially very reliable information about restaurants). Our room was spacious and nicely furnished and the lounge is very comfortable. The choice of the breakfast menue is abundant an the cooked breakfast something to look forward too. There is only one drawback to this nice place: most rooms seem to face Kelso's cobbled main thoroughfare which makes the night quite noisy.

We stayed here recently for a few days as part of our honeymoon. We were delighted with our room and the resident's lounge and the very warm welcome.. thanks for the bottle of bubbly! We enjoyed this part of the world, tasty breakfast and lots of interesting stories over breakfast! Would definitely stay again if wanting somewhere in this area.

We were welcomed to the Old Priory by Robin, who was so helpful, not only did he show us aroung the beautiful accommodation but was most helpful in recommending places to eat and what to see. We were a group of 3 up in Kelso for a wedding. The rooms were fantastic. the bed sheets, were crisp and white, plenty of space in the rooms, with furniture to die for. Lots of fluffy white towels and the shower was powerful and hot! Lovely shutters on the windows, which were closed for us in the evening whilst and out and also our bed turned down. The haddock at breakfast was the best I've ever tasted for years. I had it both mornings, although there was plenty of choice with a vegetarian option if required. The guest sitting room was huge but at the same time managing to maintain a sophisticated, classy cosiness, with three big sofa's, television, c.d facilities, book and games. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we stayed so we didn't get the opportunity to sit in the wonderful garden. The Old Priory is central to everything in Kelso. It was an abolute treat to stay there and made our weekend even more memorable. I can safely say we will be going back. Hopefully before the end of the year.

We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed a comfortable visit. The breakfast was perfect - well cooked and well presented.
The Priory was steeped in history.
I would come again - thank you.

We stayed at The Old Priory one night and absolutely loved it. The room was spacious, clean and the hostess charming. There were several options available for breakfast, including vegetarian and a hospitality tray with local specialties in the room was a nice touch. Definetly would stay there again.

The two braxies and the cowpit sheep had a fab three nights here. The accommodation was first class, Mandy was an excellent hostess and cook. We had fun and lots of good advice about eating places and things to do. Cocktails good at the Queen's Head and Cobblers. Food also good at these places. Floors well worth a visit and we bought really nice jewellery in the b and b. Would definitely stay again. Thanks.
