As much as we try to avoid one night stays when driving in the UK, there are always a couple of occasions where it is difficult to avoid. This is one B & B you would not wish to avoid. Our host was extremely helpful and also a very good breakfast chef. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and welcoming as was the town itself. The recommended evening meal at the local pub was outstanding for such a small town. Robin was a source of a lot of local and not so local information and was able to correct our Australian pronunciation of Alnwick to avoid further embarrassment.
We would do it all again.

I was on an adventure by myself in Scotland and had the pleasure to stop by the Old Priory for a night. I visited several good b&b's during my week of travel but the Old Priory was by far the most comfortable and I felt immediately at home there. In addition to the friendly hosts, the house was fresh and beautifully decorated and the breakfast tasted lovely with the view to the flowering garden. Next time I will have no trouble deciding on where to stay up there! With many thanks, Terhi

A fabulous place to stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone. The bedrooms are wonderful, large, airy, comfortable, exceptionally clean and wouldn't appear out of place with some of the smarter country house hotels. Having only a small number of letting rooms added to the feel of exclusivity. Robin was a very generous host, with an instinctive gift for hospitality. His breakfasts are superb and quality ingredients, washed down with plenty of freshly brewed coffee made a great start to the day. I can't wait to stay there again!

Room Tip: I would be happy to stay in any of the rooms.

My wife and I had been invited to a traditional Scotish Wedding in Kelso. We required a 2 night stay, after reading some of the comments for the Old Priory we decided to stay there. Upon arrival our hoasts Robin & Susan made us both feel more than welcome. The house it self was georgeous, we stayed in the family room overlooking the large back garden. Our room was amazing, very tastfully furnished and decorated. The large double bed was very comfortable. The room and facilities were spotless. Also in the room was a information pack, this contained a wealth of information such as restaurants, places to visit, and historic buildings. Breakfast was also amazing whith a huge choice. My wife Caroline is a veggetarian, for her first breakfast Robin recommended his vegetarian speciality, warm toast spread with mustard topped with fried mushrooms and a poached egg, very highly recommended. On her second morning Robin cooked a vegetarian breakfast he even manage to find some vegie haggis. Nothing was too much trouble for this couple, I would recommend the Old Priory to anyone wanting to stay in the Kelso, Boarders area. We will definately be back. Graham & Caroline from Blackpool.

We had a good nights sleep and lovely breakfast including just picked rasberries. Robin is a good host and chef. Our room was in front of house and we thought we may have traffic noise but we didnt.
Would recommend a stay. We stayed June 2011.

Most of your reviewers say how good the Old Priory is and we agree totally. Robin was an excellent and a wonderful source of local information. Best of all was his the hospitality in meeting my needs as a coeliac and providing an excellent gluten free breakfast. J and JD from Australia
