“Quality B&B, You won't be disappointed”
Reviewed 25 January 2011

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at the Old Priory and no doubt will not be the last due to the high standard of accommodation, service and friendliness I experienced during my stay. This time I stayed in the 'Turret' room on the ground floor, it was beautifully furnished with a double bed, comfortable mattress,2 armchairs, a pouffe, dressing table with large mirror, built in wardrobe, dressing area with seat, next to the bathroom (bath & shower over) with complimentary shower gel, soap and shampoo. There is a side table with kettle, complimentary selection of teas, coffee, drinking chocolate, biscuits, milk/sugar. The room was clean and warm, bedding and towels soft and luxurious. Breakfast consisted of a selection of fresh fruits/cereals/jams/full cooked breakfast/fresh filtered coffee, juice etc The location is central with good amenties, historical sites and some nice quaint shops in walking distance. Robin the host is friendly, a good cook and has a good knowledge of the local area and places of interest, happy to help out if asked. Imo this is a first class b&b if you have high standards and expectations, you won't be disappointed.

Fabulous. Very comfortable establishment, well furnished, clean and welcolming. The Christmas lights outside were charming as was the hospitality. A wonderful establishment with regard to furnishings, comfort and food. Would recommend this place to anyone with a passion for homely comfort . Host was informative without being intrusive, helpful regarding eating out and the advise was good. A truely enjoyable trip.

This was our third stay at the Old Priory and as usual we were not dissapointed.
Robin is the perfect host and so welcoming on arrival it is like staying with old friends.
The rooms were again superbly presented and very clean, this place has so much charm and style it is always a pleasure to return. the breakfast is allways sublime and agreed at a time which is suitable to guests which is great if you have enjoyed the hospitality of the local taverns the evening before.
We will definately be returning in the near future.

I booked in advanced for 2 nights, 23 - 24 August 2010. Kelso was going to be my first town to reach via car in another country. The stupid GPS lost me but Robin was kind enough to find and direct me. (with an umbrella handy too - that darn rain)
I can't remember my room number, but it was on the ground floor, first one on the right from the front door. The room was super spacious for little old me, but everything was in order. The Old Priory has parking too, which Robin kindly advised, which is situated in the garden to die for :)
Considering I was solo, Robin was super helpful and my goal of going to like up to 3 castles a day, advice was very welcome. Robin not only offered advice he whipped up a discount that neither HS or NTS memberships could assist with <-- was very pleased.
Overall, breakfast was superb, the room was very cosy while still being spacious and Robin was one of the best host in my 19 day trip in Scotland - Thank you Robin!!!

Stayed 5/6th November as we were getting married in Kelso. Robin could not have been more helpful. As it was a very small wedding with only our witnesses the whole experience was great. Robin was brilliant letting us use the sitting room for wine and strawberrys after the wedding- setting it all up -what a surprise. We had a lovely stay-rooms, breakfast everything was brilliant. Thanks Robin(and family ).Even supplied a flower girl for photos.
Hope to be back to visit - will e mail!.
