Glenluce abbey is a little ruined gem, tucked away in the countryside. Peace, quiet, just the birdsong.
It is a ruin, but there are some interesting carved stone bosses in the chapter house - grotesques, jokey, heraldic. Great fun!
We found it open at the time in the guide - maybe others were unlucky
