“Amazing cottage everything there that you could need, brilliant views and wildlife,”
Reviewed 5 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

What a wonderful cottage in an amazing setting. .We had a lovely relaxing holiday no rush to go out every day because of the views and the comfort of the cottage. Everything you could or would need was there, Katrina the owner even had left us a bottle of wine and some home-made biscuits (which were delicious) on our arrival. The wildlife was amazing out of every window in the lounge, my husband and daughter looked forward to looking out for the daily visit across the river of the deer. Then add in the secluded sandy beaches, the forest parks, and the peace and quite of the area where the cottage sits. Cannot praise it enough. Wonderful Cottage. Will visit again. Thank you,

“A delight of a cottage.”

Had a truly wonderful holiday at Willow Cottage, so easy to relax and chill out. Absolutely everthing about the cottage was perfect, including its location. Was very easy to get to many of the tourist destinations, as well as being close to Newton Stewart for the essentials. The garden was ideal for our dog being escape proof and we spent many an hour out there just taking in the scenery and the occasional sightings of the deer. Even on a wet day we could sit in the lounge look out onto the hills and have the added entertainment of the birds on feeders right outside the window.

Visited the area a few years ago so a return visit. The cottage was chosen due to it's central location. We arrived to be met by the owners and family who gave us a quick walk through of the property and they also provided a welcome pack which was good. The cottage had everything we needed and it met all our needs. Birds were a constant visit to the garden and we even got to see a Roe deer in the opposite field several times. A whole hearted recommendation is made for the property and one we would certainly visit again. A hree star property that deserves a four star in our opinion. Thank you.

We stayed for a week with our 16 year old grandson and it was wonderful. The best equipped self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot. From the welcoming drinks and gingerbread biscuits, right down to all the info on surrounding and further afield areas. Wifi was a big draw for the grandson, and the fabulous view from the lounge over the hills where we spotted herds of deer daily were a lovely extra for my hubby and myself. Not to mention a bottle of wine and flowers to welcome us also. I will be highly recommending this cottage to all our friends and family.
To Katrina and Gordan and the girls A HUGE THANK YOU and WELL DONE

A lovely cottage in a lovely location. Warm and cosy with everything you could need. The views were stunning on sunny days. Lots to do in the area for all ages. Cycling and walking straight from the door. The internet and phone were a real bonus. We had a very peaceful week just relaxing.

“Brilliantly situated, comfortable, well-equipped cottage.”

We visited Galloway during a dreadful period of weather in early September 2012. We picked Willow Cottage because it seemed to be really close to one of the Forest Park Visitor Centres - and it was: a really good place to base yourself for a walking (or, I guess) cycling holiday. Despite the weather, we did get some good walks in, and the cottage was always a cozy and comfortable place to return to in the wintry evening. It's well maintained, spotlessly clean, and Katrina, the owner, was unfailingly helpful and friendly (even though she wasn't there). Everything you could need is within a quick car drive - supermarket and outdoor gear store in Newton Stewart, and plenty of traditional craft and food places nearby (some great smokeries down the road, plus the Bladnoch Distillery!.). Kircudbright (Ker-koo-bry) is close by - a beautiful spot particularly for art lovers. We had a great stay.

“Probably the best equipped cottage in Galloway”

An extremely well equipped cottage located in a very rural setting with off-road parking. Well maintained throughout and complete with a reliable wifi broadband. Our guests from Canada loved the panoramic views from the lounge and were delighted by the sight of deer wandering the hillside – they used Skype to show their friends at home. A café is located about 200 metres away on the main road that provides excellent home cooked cakes/meals. A small library/games selection is provided for rainy days when you just want to relax.
