We stayed 1 night in September, paying a bargain £40 room only. The room was comfortable and furnished to a reasonable standard. The shower was the best of the 5 hotels we'd stopped in on our whistle stop tour of Scotland. It had good pressure, consistent temperature, went to a good height (I'm 6'3'' and get feed-up crouching in showers) and was a large cubicle. The big downside was the view, or rather lack of it, as room 6 looks directly onto a roof, followed by a wall. It didn't really matter to us as we arrived after dark and left after breakfast, but as we seemed to be the only guests you'd think other rooms would be used first. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate our evening meal and breakfast at the hotel and both were very tasty (our first haggis as part of a cooked breakfast) and good value.
