Thoroughly enjoyed a mid week stay in this lovely B&B. Tina is the perfect hostess, very helpful as we arrived locally early and she allowed us to book in early then we could go off and do our own thing.
Our upstairs bedroom had some fabulous views across the fields. Very clean and perfectly decorated to a very high standard. .Lots of attention to detail !!. .a comfortable bed as well as a leather sofa to relax on.
The bathroom had complimentary toiletries, large fluffy towels and a large walk in shower. There was a vast choice of hot drinks and even two wine glass and a corkscrew for those wanting something stronger and a very comfortable bed too. .
As an addition there was a choice of DVD;s in the drawer for those stay in doors rainy days, which thankfully we didn't make use of and a girls best friend hairdryer. :)
We had our own access so didn't need to disturb Tina as we came and went and where also able to use the spa pool as and when we needed. A very nice touch were some pictures taken in the local area. This Home has been very well thought out so as not to invade guests privacy.
Breakfast was something else, we loved the home made granola and the cooked breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choice to suit all tastes
It got a 9 1/2 out of 10 from us.
Just a perfect setting for walkers or cyclists as only 10 mins walk from Castle Douglas and in stunning location plus they have cycles to hire on site too.
Hopefully it won't be too long before we return. . Thank You Tina !!

Room Tip: We chose the upstairs room, very nice .

It is a very nice and cosy B&B with a homely atmosphere. After a whole day of cycling I enjoyed having rest at my room which was very good. Also I did like the little pool with jacuzzi! Next time I'm in Scotland I'll be very glad to stay in this welcoming B&B again.

We have just had the best 4 days break in a B&B that we have ever had. This place is absolutely stunning and in a quiet location of the town. The superior room is fantastic, with the décor, under floor heating and furnishings to a very high standard. The breakfast table was expertly laid out and looked superb. We were surprised every morning with the different fruits which Tina provided. The home made granola should be bagged and sold! This is a very welcoming place to stay with no interruption by the owners at any stage of the day. They obviously respect peoples privacy which is important. If you want peace and quiet in stunning accommodation then you must stay here, we could not fault it!

Room Tip: Superior room has the benefit of an external seating area with stunning views.

We stayed in the more expensive of the 2 rooms and found it to be very luxurious. Huge bed, nice decor and selection of dvds for good measure.

The place is about ten mins walk from the town centre which was ideal. The service of the owner is what really sets this place apart. She was so helpful and was able to recommend plenty to see and do and even booked us a table at a great local restaurant.

I would definitely go back to this place!

stayed here in February 2013 Absolutely stunning B&B would recommend it to anyone!! .. The photos of the rooms don't do them justice everything is finished to an amazing standard, the decor is very modern and the indoor Jacuzzi is great for relaxing! The couple who own the B&B are lovely and the breakfast is amazing everything is fresh and they have lots to choose from .. will defiantly be returning in the near future :)

Booked here due to reading all the previous reviews and we were not disappointed!!! Altho we had seen photos of the room we would be in before arriving, we were still stunned by it - everything in the room was finished to such a high standard and the underfloor heating and walk in shower was incredible. Tina could not have made us feel any more welcome from the minute we arrived. She recommended places to eat and gave us directions to the areas we wanted to visit and breakfast was a treat. We wanted a weekend away to relax and recharge and certainly got that at Summerhill. Would highly recommend you stay here!!

Stayed over on a cycling trip through Galloway. Castle Douglas is not perhaps the first place you would think of staying, but Summerhill was recommended and was superb. Friendly but not intrusive, comfortable and modern. Breakfast was great too
