Used to be nice and with lots of good food and home-baking. Visited for quick lunch and we were the only people there after 2 couples left. Took 30 mins to have two baked potatoes with salad brought to our table and they weren't oven baked - microwaved and one wasn't good through and was hard in places. Salad was freshly made and you had to option of drizzling oil and vinegar over it but no freshly made dressing to go over it in a little pot. Decor needs redoing. £6.50 for baked potato - rather steep but would rather spend more elsewhere (Archerfield) and get better food.

It's a few years since we've had lunch here and we were pleased to say it was just as good. Nice little local cafe. Great soups and sandwiches. Friendly and efficient service. Maybe not quite as much choice on the soup & cake front as there used to be. But everything we ordered was great.

Went with my elderly father in law and were directed to a table. 5 minutes later we were asked to move as it was reserved for an elderly lady who might come in. There was nobody else in the place so I said we weren't going to move as my father in law was disabled and it was difficult for him. The waitress said "fine" in a raised voice, put her hands in the air, turned on her heel and flounced into the kitchen. We were so mortified we left. The place has gone downhill since being taken over and is very unfriendly. It used to be a lovely place to go. I emailed the owner on the website to tell him but he never did get back to me.
